 in New Castle on Monday and Tuesday, July 16 and 17.“Pop-up” art is an outdoor museum exhibition that uses main streets and landmark outdoor spaces as its gallery space. Realistic reproductions of works of art are printed to scale, framed, and then installed in pedestrian-friendly outdoor locations—including

parks, the sides of public or private buildings, and other

locations where people gather. The purpose of a pop-up art exhibition is to interact with audiences outside traditional museum walls. In celebration of the Delaware Art Museum’s 100th anniversary, and in conjunction with 100 Works for 100 Years—a Museum-wide installation featuring one or more works from each year of the Museum’s existence—the Delaware Art Museum is thrilled to present its very first pop-up art exhibition! The exhibition, titled Art is Everywhere, will be on view statewide through early October, 2012. Gorgeous reproductions of some of the Museum’s most treasured paintings, such as Howard Pyle’s The Mermaid, Winslow Homer’s Milking Time, and Edward Hopper’s Summertime, will be on view.

porterhouse with balsamic steak sauce

Preheat a grill to high on one side and lightly oil the grate. Season a 2-inch-thick

porterhouse steak (3 lbs) with coarse sea salt & pepper. Grill over direct heat for 4 minutes, then rotate the meat 90 and cook 2 more minutes. Repeat on the other side. Move the steak to the cooler part of the grill (position the smaller end away from the heat); cover and cook until the meat reaches 128 to 130 for medium-rare, 12 to 15 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.

To make the sauce, simmer 3/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 2/3 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup honey, 2 sliced shallots, 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp dijon mustard, 1/4 tsp allspice, salt, pepper and

sugar to taste until thickened, about 15 minutes. Strain, then whisk in some butter.

1 ounce or 2 tbsp simple syrup*2 ounces or 1/4 cup pineapple juiceSplash orange juiceIce, as neededRed wine, as needed (recommended: rioja)*Cook's Note: peach-, pear- or ginger-flavored liqueur can be substituted.*Cook's Note: Simple syrup is equal parts sugar and water

cooked until the sugar dissolves and then cooled completely.

Next add the tequila, elderflower-flavored liqueur, simple syrup, pineapple juice, and orange juice. Add ice to glass and stir to mix ingredients. Top glass with red wine and enjoy!
