Opportunities For All

Opportunity MDOT continues the State of Maryland's strong commitment to equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, with bold, successful initiatives that encourage participation from small, minority-, women-, veteran-owned and disadvantaged businesses.

Get Involved!

MDOT knows that diverse, inclusive teams foster innovative ideas, lead to successful delivery and community engagement, and make Maryland stronger. The Opportunity MDOT program will help small, minority-, women-, veteran-owned and disadvantaged businesses and job seekers be prepared to take advantage of potential opportunities, should a build alternative be selected as a recommended preferred alternative.

Eligible firms are encouraged to obtain MBE, DBE or SBE certification from MDOT as soon as possible.

Opportunity MDOT dramatically increases access to economic opportunities through:

• A “Center of Excellence” web-based information hub providing instruction, data, and support to businesses, stakeholders, and job seekers throughout the entire life cycle of the I-495 & I-270 P3 Program

• An Advisory Council of community stakeholders, economic-development agencies, and external constituencies who represent a diverse cross-section of business owners and business leadership

• A Partnership with the Conference of Minority Transportation Ocials (COMTO) to provide a voice for increased small, minority-, women-, veteran-owned, and disadvantaged business participation and access to training opportunities

• A Preferred Training Partner Program to foster inclusion and oer targeted workforce-development training for job seekers, preparing them to competitively pursue career opportunities
