Today we have our wonderful patient "Cherub" who presented several days ago with a very painful, infected cyst on her back. The cyst has been present for over 40 years!
She was given antibiotics with instructions to return for incision and drainage of the abscess and excision of the cyst. With a cyst this old, the prospects of removal with intact cyst sac are about zero.
Thanks to Yellow Jacket Sue, we have use of a curette that makes short work of removing the entrenched, scarred cyst sac. Basically the tool turns it into a thick, red fluid…
