PRAYER of the DAY

God of this generation and every generation, as we continue this 40+ Days journey, we offer thanks and praise for Jesus Christ who forgives our sin and gives our lives purpose. We offer thanks and praise to you also for those who came before us and built this spiritual house so that it can be our church home. Help us to do the same for those who are here today, and for those who will come after us. We want to be authentic and faithful Christians whose lives and legacies are truly centered in Christ, and so today we ask you to guide us and lead us in the way of love and generosity. Help us to believe that you can accomplish through us abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine as we Together Arise Shine. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen

Calvary Community Orchard Ferry Farms Pontiac Campus

On 10/17, we had our most favorable ratio of community members and Calvary members present during our Trunk-or-Treat/Friendly Forest event. Thanks to the high school youth group, led by Alex Skene (the Hippie guitarist) and Hannah Allen (Batman) for helping our little visitors get in the Halloween mood, with fun, games, and activities. That ends out 2015 Fellowship Events (but don't miss the Community Impact opportunity). Thanks to our Pontiac team: Janet Barley, Darlene Brokenshaw, Wayne Jones, Carol Martus, Mark Scherler, LeAnne Schmidt, Curtis Vargo, and Kate Zywicki for the commitment, planning, and involvement. If you have an interest in joining us with ideas for 2016, please plan to meet 11/1 at 11:00. If you are unable to join us, please let one of our team members know your ideas to share.

Youth & Family Ministry Staff Please keep in your prayers the search process for a new staff person in the area of youth and family ministry that will begin this month. Together, Arise, Shine Calvary facility expansion and plans have been sent out, as we discussed in worship last week. Together, we can accomplish this and so much more!

Church Council Members for

2016 and Beyond If you sense God is calling you to use your spiritual gifts in servant leadership on our church council, please request an information and application packet from Pastor Jonathan or Congregational President Tom Grant. We will be seeking to nominate spiritually growing, forward thinking and positively motivated Calvary members for a 3 year term beginning February 2016.

WELCA Bible Study

A series of monthly WELCA Bible studies for women takes places one Monday per month at the Clarkston Campus. This Fall focuses on speed and slowness. We will look at scripture and our faith traditions to help us rediscover the restorative rhythms of God. Bring a bible and check the monthly calendar for a full schedule.
