    TURNING BACK PROP 13: Activists are currently gatheringsignatures to put the The California Democracy Act on the ballot inCalifornia. It would require a simple majority to pass taxes in thestate legislature, rather than the 2/3 currently necessary. This wouldmake it easier for the state legislature to restore funding to public

    GAS AND OIL TAX: This proposed CA state legislation, AB 656,would put a tax on oil and gas drilling that would go into a fund for

    education.

    Attend the UC Lobby Day on March 1st

    : SUA (Student UnionAssociation) is organizing buses for students to ride to Sacramento

    to tell their legislators to protect public education in California.

    Make your voice heard! UC students, faculty, and workers are

    organizing across campuses and joining with K-12 schools,Community Colleges, and Cal State Universities to fight theprivatization of public education.

    Contact your elected officials

    Write letters to local newspapers

    Tell your parents and everyone you know!

    Become a student activist!
