Whakamaru School Mission Statement: To Grow Creative Thinkers
Principals message
Tēnā koutou ngā whānau o the kura o Whakamaru. Thank you to everyone for your support and effort over the National lockdown period. It has been great finally hearing the students playing, talking and laughing all over school. We have been really excited to return to some normality. The start of term 2 under Alert Level 2 has been a re-set of school routines and procedures for our students. We are all currently working our way through what our school looks like and operates like under this new normal. We have im-plemented processes and policies to ensure the safety of our students and staff during Alert Level 2 with our main focus on wellbeing of all on site. Please see the plan on page 4 & 5. We are running our Kapa Haka, guitar, piano and Kiwi Can sessions under strict health guidelines with identified dis-tancing spaces for our students and tutors as well as in class-room bubbles. Technology sessions at Forest View High School for our Year 7 & 8s will run from Thursday next week. Forest View High School have supplied us with their in-depth plan under Alert Level 2 as well as their assurance that our students will be safe on their site. Please if you wish your child not to attend tech weekly please contact me or let Whaea Lianne know. Thank you all for contacting us before entering the school grounds and office if you have had any queries . Remember no adults are to venture onto school grounds during school hours, you must contact us first and on entering our site sign our contact register once in the office or share with us your check in record from Skool Loop. See page 2 for the Skool loop check in app. Nga mihi nui James White [email protected]

Ah, I love your resources!
Making your tambourines to-

with each other and from each
other, this is AKO. It is won-
derful to see brothers working
together and having fun.

Huge thank you to G.A.S Whakamaru for your support in raising money for our school swimming pool.
Through the “Gas for schools fundraiser” and the money going towards the upgrade of our school pool,
we are looking to have our pool upgraded this year. So thank you for your on going support!
PTA plan
Due to COVID-19 a number of fundraisers for our PTA have been on hold. Our Easter raffle is one that
has been put on hold. Once we return to Alert Level 1 we will reschedule this raffle and funds raised will
be added to our goal to this year’s fundraising target.
