Admissions KPU Admissions Information Application Date The 2020 application date for KPU is October 1st. Students should be applying on October 1st, starting at 9:00 am to ensure the earliest possible application date for limited intake programs. KPU Health Foundations (Nursing) At this time, KPU is still not accepting any new applications for Health Foundations Program. This decision was made so focus and resources could be put on KPU students who have already been admitted, and supporting those students to progress through the program. A notice has been placed on the EPBC online application, and is reflected within KPU’s Application Deadlines and Fees webpage. KPU will keep students informed if applications re-open for a future intake. If you are interested in this program, please contact KPU or attend one of their drop-in sessions to discuss options. KPU Limited Intake Programs Students interested in Limited Intake Programs (like Education Assistant, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Legal Administrative Assistant, Health Unit Certificate, Trade Certificates, etc.) should plan to apply to October 1st. Cost of Post-Secondary Education Families are encouraged to have conversations about the costs of post-secondary education. Costs can vary greatly – from apprenticeship programs where students can capitalize on incentives provided by the government and if started while in high school to degree programs at private institutions. The last two pages of this newsletter are provided by PSBC. There are a number of ‘cost calculators’ available on institution websites which can help families to anticipate the cost. Students who are planning to live away from home are going to want to investigate the cost of living on (or off campus) as this can substantially increase the cost of a post-secondary education.

Parents may be interested at looking at the resources available to parents on this website: Link Examples of cost calculators: UBC, U of Alberta, UVIC, Waterloo Examples of tuition + fees: BCIT, Douglas, KPU, UFV,
