W E L C O M E I am so glad you’ve chosen to worship
with us today. We call ourselves a family
and as that family, it is our desire to
welcome you and offer the opportunity
for you to engage in worship and
teaching from the Word of God. Our
church exists to help prepare and equip
you to become the hands and feet of
Jesus in the world. Again, thanks for

ANNOUNCEMENTS
YOUTH SNACK DONATIONS - The youth program is always
in need of snacks for Kids Connection, Youth Group, and other
activities. This month, donate individually-packaged snacks &
drinks in the box in the Narthex. Donate throughout the year by
contacting Kristen!
OFFICE - Our new church secretary is Heather Long. She is
excited to serve along side you and will appreciate your help
and patience as she settles into her new role.
ASH WEDNESDAY - Pastor Josh will give the message on Ash
Wednesday at the Lima/Allen County Area Church Lenten
Community Services hosted by Southside Christian Church. Ash
Wednesday service is March 6 @ 7pm and communion will be
served. The address for Southside is 3300 S. Side Dr, Lima, OH
45807. Westside UMC will host Sunday evening service on
March 10 @ 7pm where the offering will go to CUP Ministries.
DISCIPLESHIP TEAM - Adopt a Preschooler during
Lent! Please pick up the name of one of Westside's Preschooler's
from the display in the Narthex. During Lent please write a card
or encouraging note weekly to the child you have selected. Place
the card or note in the box on the table in the Narthex. The
cards and notes will be given to the Preschool teachers for
delivery. Let's support these children with extra attention during
this season of Lent.
The Discipleship Team is looking for individuals with a friendly
smile and warm greeting to welcome our preschoolers as they
arrive each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for class. You
need to arrive in the Narthex at 9:00 and be prepared to greet
the children when they arrive. You will be free to leave at 9:30.
A clipboard with a sign-up calendar will be circulated through
the congregation the next few weeks and will be in the office
during the week. You are invited to sign up for one day or
several days as your schedule permits. Please join us as we begin
this new outreach ministry. If you have questions, please see
Judy Steigleder.
We will be hosting "Coffee and Cookies" for the parents of the
preschoolers Thursday, April 4. If you would like to serve with
us, please contact a member of the Discipleship Team.
Westside UMC will continue our acts of mission and ministry by
serving at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen and bringing
fellowship to the residents of Lima Convalescent and
Springview Manor by playing bingo and serving refreshments.
Please contact Jo Ellen Cook if you would like to serve.
Westside UMC will host the Community Lenten Service Sunday,
March 10 at 7:00 pm. Following the service we will be serving
refreshments in the Family Life Center. Please contact Jacqui
Dill, Trudi Snyder, or Judy Steigleder if you would like to
donate something yummy or if you would like to serve that
evening.
Thank you for participating in these outreach and mission
activities as we share the love of Christ with others. May these
opportunities bring you joy and inspiration.

YOUTH GROUP Donate 40 Things for 40 Days - Lent is
about preparing for Easter and meditating on the crucifixion
and resurrection of Jesus. One way that people prepare is by
making sacrifices in their lives. As a church, we are taking on
the challenge of donating one thing each day during Lent.
These donations could include clothes, books, cd’s, electronics,
household items, etc. We will be collecting your donations at
church at the end of Lent and donating them to various
community agencies. Please join us in taking on this challenge
as we prepare for Easter!
