• We are the ONLY fully DEP permitted rail transfer and recovery facility in the State of New Jersey

What is State of the Art Air Treatment
• We own and operate the first “Negative Air Handling System” in a rail based facility in the entire USA
• This $1 million system completes six air changes per hour
• Moves and treats 80,000 cubic feet per minute
• Meets EPA Fugitive Emissions standards by removing the dust and odor before venting
• Ensures a safer and healthier workplace

compliance with NJDEP environmental standards

Why a State of the ArtRail Facility
• A single railcar can carry 100 tons of waste versus only 22 tons per long-haul truck
• Air pollution caused by trucks is nearly five times that for rail transport
• Truck accidents per ton-mile occur as much as 30 times more than rail transport accidents

New Federal Law
• In October, President George W. Bush signed legislation that included language from the "Clean Railroads Act of 2008"
• This requires solid waste facilities along railroad tracks to meet state and local guidelines for environmental protection, health and safety
• Westside Transload is the first facility in NJ to comply with these new regulations
