6. Correspondence
6.1 Saskatoon Track and field
Attention all GHSC Clients
We appreciate your support and cooperation as we open new facilities at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex. We look
forward to starting work soon on additions to our complex that will include: completion of the sports centre located
between our track/speed skating oval and Cairns Field, 2 outdoor all weather turf practice diamonds as well as an
outdoor multi-purpose turf field.
Please note for our 2020 fiscal year, starting April 1, we will have a new rate structure. All our rates including the new
2020 rates can be found by clicking the rates tab at the bottom of the Public Access web page.(Please note
all the informational options that are available at the bottom of the
page https://app.bookking.ca/gordiehowesportscomplexpub/index.asp
Thank you for supporting Gordie Howe Sports Complex run by GHSCMI a nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing
quality facilities to athletes of all ages.
- Gate did well
- The physio ran us over a couple hundred for this event
- Will go ahead with booking this facility for this year

7. Reports
7.1 Presidents Meeting Report – Lance Morrison –
- HMC – Refresh of SHSAA documents (Constitution, Bylaws, and Policies)
- Giving the power to the executive and the SAG groups to make changes to sports
- AGM would be more informational and less changes
- Team fees are being increased next year
- Work on football playoff structures for 2020 has started
- Curling – Sask Milk is the title sponsor – be sure to acknowledge and bring in for Regionals.
- Basketball – under garments – white, black, or dominant uniform colour. (Team all the same)
- Track and field – 1500m/200m finals compressed to give track officials a break.
- 2020 open bids - Cross Country
- Provincial Track (Yorkton – lack of hotel rooms)
- Len Williams Legacy Funding - $1000 – need to allocate
- 50/50’s allowed at high school events (Did anyone have any this fall?) (Discussion)
- 2023 – 75th anniversary of SHSAA – planning underway
- SHSAA restructuring for the future. More of the motions will go through the SAG groups and onto the executive.
- Motions need to be put forward 90 days before the SHSAA AGM
- Outlook/Rosetown to look into 2020 cross country bid

Recommendations The reliability of the golfers average score needs to be more
accurate, as some scores that were submitted were way off and
lead to creating poor groupings for the event (ie. a golfer being
submitted to have an average score of 95 that shoots closer to
155).

Results After very competitive play:
Davidson 3rd place & KCS 2nd place played in the semi,
Davidson then played Plenty in the Final.
Plenty emerged as District Champs!
Financial Statement Our gate brought in $521.00 and officials' costs were
$392.63.
Recommendations The day at Davidson ran smoothly and on time.
One suggestion:
Perhaps Section Reps could share when Sectional playoff dates
are and who coaches are so that the District hosts knows who
to contact for info. The boys received their draw by looking on
West Central Thursday after school. I sent the girls' directly to
coaches on the day after our Sectional matches
(Wednesday). Because the girls draw could not be finalized
until Thursday night to see what happened in the South Section
I shared a draft prior to that for other teams to begin planning
for travel. Coaches began contacting my principal for a draw
on the Monday :)
