Diabetic Medical Supplies Find Financially Challenged ABC News in Raleigh, North Carolina brought the issue of how those who are finding money scarce and happen to

be diabetic struggle with options to get their diabetic medical supplies.

CR3 Diabetes Association was founded for the purpose of providing devices and supplies to diabetics who are either

without insurance coverage or are under insured and cannot afford the cash layout without putting their family in

jeapordy.

Wesley Yuhn & Media Oasis pointed out that in a typically American way, a man who had struggled for years to

find ways to get the medical supplies he needed found a way to start an organization that provides those life-giving

items to others.

The organization provides glucose meters, testing strips and insulin pumps. But, the organization is not giving these

away for free. He has started a business where he can purchase the supplies online at a huge discount and resell

them through the association passing the discounts onto their customers. It is important to note that this is not a

money making venture and the fees charged are to make it possible to keep the supplies in stock.

The business is supported by contributions from the public, fundraisers that are held several times a year and by

corporate sponsorships. One of their most notable sponsors is Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks.

Anyone involved in sourcing diabetic medical supplies in the B2B sector is fully aware of how many people in the

U.S. have diabetes. According to a recent article in Forbes.com, diabetes is responsible for 7% of the money spent

in the health care system. Additionally, $69 billion every year, Forbes states, is lost by businesses because of

reduced productivity.

Dr. Jennifer Shine Dyer recommends to those who purchase their own health care insurance to make certain that the

plan you choose covers the products or medications that you actually use. Some diabetic supplies are not

necessarily interchangeable even if they are designed to produce the same result.

For example, a simple glucose meter that uses a pinprick to test blood sugar may be good for one patient but not as

accurate for another either because of skin texture or how often the pricks are necessary. Insurance plans cover

some brands but not others and it can make a difference in the level of care and frequency of difficulties that users

experience.

The CR3 Diabetes Association in Raleigh is an example of people with diabetes understanding the needs of others in

similar situations and finding a way to solve the problems.
