Scratchie with the Whalers – tomorrow!

Looking forward to the run with the Whalers boys tomorrow (Wednesday 9th March) starting at 6pm – try and getdown by 5.45pm if you can..

We will replicate what we did last year – mix up the teams and make this a fun, social event with an emphasis oncamaraderie. Plenty of opportunity for Whalers v Wembley throughout the year! Our respective coaches can chatas to how they want to split the numbers on the night.

We will put on the snags afterwards and beer and soft drinks available for sale also.

Thanks to Bevo for volunteering to umpire too.

Waroona fire appeal carnival in Mandurah

Waroona Demons is co-hosting a carnival with Mandurah Makos on the Sunday 20th March in Mandurah. All fundsraised on the day will go to the Waroona Fire Appeal.

So far around 10 have said yes on TeamApp – if you are keen, register your interest today! If we get 15+, we mayfield our own team.

We hope to have more details from Waroona this week – start times, fixtures etc.

2016 fixtures

Still waiting on 2016 fixtures from WA Masters which are typically finalised during March. At this stage, Round 1 ison Sunday 3rd April and we are hosting Round 2 at Wembley Oval on Sunday 17th April so lock that in.

Personalised jumpers

We are doing another run of personalized jumpers over the next month in readiness for the season. What betterway to ensure you get vilified in the Match Report if you can be easily identified when you miss one from 15 out?

For our new members, these are not mandatory but a good way to get your name in lights!

Available in BLACK or WHITE so you can order one or both.

Post your size (Cotch is a Large, Hurls is an XL and Nunz is an XXL for comparison purposes!), number and thename or nickname you want on your back. The cost will be confirmed this week from the supplier but is expectedto be approximately $70.

Put your order on TeamApp or let Bassie know – orders close this Friday 11th March to ensure we get them donefor April.

Nungarin

We will play the annual Wembley v Kalgoorlie Cobber Rogers Shield game as a curtain raiser to the NungarinCentral Wheatbelt Football League fixture on Saturday 21st May which will coincide with Nungarin's ‘Belt Up’Campaign day.

According to WA Masters, this will fall on an ‘off week’ between normal Masters fixtures.

We normally make the 3 hour journey by bus and return the same day – don’t miss out!

The new flyer to give to prospective players is available under the ‘Documents’ tab on TeamApp – download it,print it, give it to a mate or put it on the noticeboard at work.

2016 membership

$250 for a player membership and $500 for a player sponsorship (gives you a player membership plus entry toclub events throughout the year including the wind-up) – same as last year

Payment required before Round 1 (3rd April) – no pay, no play. Payment ensures you’re covered by insurance ongame day, and during club training session.

Joffa’s Personal Statement

Joining the Wembley Vets Football Club in 2015 has given me theopportunity to create some great friendships and become part of asporting club again which I have always loved. I never thought I’d putthe boots back on again, and it appears my hamstrings didn’t thinkthat either. Nevertheless, despite some frustrating injuries, I haveloved every moment (except when Irish gives me shiners), and I thankyou all for that.

I would like to try and help the club by becoming a sponsor for 2016,and in doing so, perhaps even help promote dental and oral health. Iam happy to consult anybody around the club with any dental queriesand try and provide accurate feedback. I will also offer corporaterates (I do this with a few companies in the city), whereby there is amandatory discount of 10% on all payments for any work provided. This applies to members of WVFC and their spouse.
