The Weraroa Cricket Club Inc is a non-profit organisation aimed at managing and

supporting local cricket. Originally formed in 1921, the Weraroa Cricket Club Inc.

supports ten club teams including junior teams, college teams, senior afternoon teams

offering cricket to all local region of the Horowhenua. We also offer Twilight Cricket

to 140 social twilight cricket players involving local businesses and other local clubs.

In 2020, the club with the support of the club committee, initiated a new 3 year

strategic business plan for the club. This plan has been designed to ensure cricket in

Horowhenua increases its status and continues to grow on all levels. The club now

has grown from 3 to 12 club teams including our senior, woman’s, college, and junior

cricket teams.

As a part of the last strategic planning, a 12 month sponsorship package was designed

to give businesses the opportunity for cost effective promotion and marketing.

What a success it was for our club, having a well know local Levin business called

Top Glass has also helped increase the clubs profile in so many ways.

Cricket is a game for life, it is one of the nation’s major sports and is an important

It is the Weraroa Cricket Clubs mission to foster ongoing pride, respect, sportsmanship and success in the club by providing

a positive and enjoyable cricket experience for all, with our own point of difference while developing players, people and

Our goal is to provide the opportunity, environment and facilities to people of all ages and abilities to play cricket. We are

particularly focused on promoting youth cricket and encouraging young players to take up the game at an early age.

Aim 1

Harness and develop all young cricketers so they have the opportunity to contribute to the game of cricket at all levels and

play a central role in club cricket life.

The aim of the club is to ensure all young players have access to quality facilities, coaching and playing opportunities. We

aim to raise the standard of facilities, coaching and development across the youth section. We aim to actively participate and

compete in local competitions to provide the highest quality playing opportunities.

We aim to increase & develop our coaching staff to enable us to run enough sides for a natural progression from Junior

Cricket through to senior teams.

Aim 2

Develop and promote cricket for all ethnic minorities.

We aim to be a diverse and inclusive club encouraging people from all ethnic backgrounds to join the club.

Aim 3

Ensure that our cricket club is an integral part of the local community, contributing an invaluable service to all sections of the

local community, developing club members, supporters and volunteers.

We aim to grow our non-playing membership and promote the club as a vital part of the local community. We aim to allow

our facilities to be used and enjoyed by the wider community. We aim to offer opportunities to members of the local

community to volunteer their services to help the club.

Develop and strengthen senior playing teams, providing positive role models to all club members, leading achievement and

success.

We aim to increase our senior playing membership by improving facilities and promoting our sides up through the grades.

Ensuring the future of the club through proper financial and corporate administration.

The Aim is maintaining the history of the club by keeping links between the past and current members open.

OUR CLUB 100th CENTENARY SEASON

In a few months Weraroa Cricket Club will celebrate its 100th year Centenary and we want you to be a part of this historic

event. The Weraroa Cricket Club Committee would love your support as a club sponsor during our special year.

An impressive variety of celebratory events have been planned. Some events are specific to the Centennial; others have

already planned by the club committee. The main events that the Centennial Working Group is now organizing is the final big

celebration marking Weraroa CC 100 years Waitangi Weekend 5th - 8th February 2021.

still. The only change will be the swap of the odd sponsor. This season the club will also

play 6 weeks of two day cricket playing in a white uniform. And subject to funding
