TRANSCENDENCE THEATRE COMPANYWe’re what happens when artists take the lead: a joyous adventure in magical creation. Located in the California Wine Country,

Transcendence is a 501c3 non-profit musical theatre company like none other. Our Broadway Under the Stars concerts go on in a uniquely special place - outdoors in Jack London State Historic Park, nestled in the open air ruins of a winery destroyed by the 1906 earthquake. When the sun sets on the rolling vineyards, it’s the most beautiful place to be. We call it our Field of Dreams.

You can find us performing at public events, private parties, and our summer and winter shows. And you can join us for our pre-show picnics, when our artists and audience meet and become community. But we’re best known for our award-winning summer musical series, Broadway Under the Stars - when we explore numbers from well-loved musicals and popular artists. Our artists have performed on Broadway, toured nationally and internationally, and earned film and major television credits.

They’re our family and the very fabric of who we are and what we do. Our work doesn’t stop when the curtains close. Our year-round education programs share the joy of theatre with youth in the Bay Area and around the world.

And our heart-centered community engagement makes theatre more accessible to all.

We often say the feeling of Transcendence can’t be explained, it can only be experienced. So we invite you to enter a world of magic, music, and love. Join us in our Field of Dreams.

Welcome to Transcendence's 10th Anniversary Season!

Over a decade ago we had a dream to create extraordinary experiences that inspire all to cherish life and live it to the fullest.

Since then we have entertained over 300,000 audience members, created 100 productions, inspired 10,000 youth through our arts education programs, raised $527,000 for Jack London State Historic Park, produced 75 community engagement projects,

donated over 5,000 tickets to underserved communities, and made millions of memories.

All of this was possible because of the generosity of our community. As we toast to the decade to come, we look forward to joining with all of you to continue bringing joy and inspiration to audiences in Sonoma and beyond.

Enjoy the magic of My Hero at the Drive-In! Our hearts are filled with gratitude for our heroic frontline healthcare workers. We are grateful to join together as a community to say a big thank you and to kick o the summer with the best night ever!

DIRECTOR’S NOTE Welcome to the Drive-in! During this long pause, the world has once again realized that art is service.

Art is the pulse of connection, learning/un-learning, healing, and growth.

To serve, is responding to what’s happening in the world around you and one of those moments for me, right now, is honoring the folx that

dedicated their time, intellect, compassion, and care during this pandemic.

Representation matters. To all the heroic frontline healthcare and essential workers, this event would not be possible without you. Because of you, we as artists,

can finally step back on stage to serve, connect, uplift, and to heal, once again.

Thank you for sharing your stories and light with us. We will continue to move forward with this strength and eternal hope.

This evening of music and entertainment is for you!

From the bottom of my heart, you are all truly MY HEROES!

– Matthew Rosso

Music is the heart of our lives at the Alan & Susan Seidenfeld Initiative for Music & Children. We believe the discipline and hard work necessary to excel in music and theatre teaches a lesson for everything in life. Our mission is to expose as many children as possible to excellent music and to promote music education programs that enhance the possibilities of children throughout the county. Transcendence Theatre Company is one of the many ways we fulfill our mission and we are thrilled to be a part of such a great organization.

JACK LONDON CREDOI would rather be ashes than dust.

I would rather that my sparkshould burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot.

I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

The proper function of man is to live, not to exist.

I shall not waste my daystrying to prolong them.

I shall use my time.

United through a Spirit of Adventure Jack London was, no doubt, a trailblazer.

In addition to his literary masterpieces, he was a pioneer in sustainable farming and

animal husbandry, a supporter of the Little Theatre Movement.

We are so thankful to Jack London Park Partners, California State Parks, and the

entire community for everything that we have been able to accomplish.

Together we look to carry on the legacy of Jack London as we pioneer evermore

toward a bountiful future for each and every one of us.
