COURSE/CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

Developed a new graduate course: ECE 802-602-Introduction to BioMEMS (Special Topic) in 2010. Course

introduces students to biomedical micro-electro-mechanical systems (BioMEMS) and microtechnologies in

Page 13: WEN LI, Ph.D. · 2016-11-11 · Wen Li, Ph.D. Page 2 of 16 1. Damien Rodger, Wen Li, James D. Weiland, Mark S. Humayun and Yu-Chong Tai, "Flexible Circuit Technologies for Biomedical

building medical microdevices.

Modified “Introduction to BioMEMS” into “ECE 802-603: BioMEMS and Microfluidics” (Special Topic) in

2013 by incorporating microfluidics components in the lectures.

Co-proposed and merged “ECE 477-Microelectronic Fabrication” and “ECE 802 -Clearnroom Procedure” into

a joint course. The combined course offers new materials and microfabrication projects for both

undergraduate and graduate students. Students have had opportunities to learn the monolithic fabrication

of discrete resistors, CMOS capacitors, transistors, diode, and photo diodes using the cleanroom facilities in

the ECE teaching lab.
