Dearly Beloved People of God,

Greetings in the Great and Awesome Name of Jesus Our Lord. By the time this new letter reaches you, our Fellowship would have concluded yet another camp. To those who have attended the camp, it is my hope and prayer that you would have had a rich and rewarding experience of being believers in Christ and knowing him as your personal saviour. Our true identity in Christ comes only when we know and believe on him to be our personal saviour. According to Pastor Charles Stanley the scriptures describe believers as follows:-

We are the salt of the earth. o We are children of God.

We are joint heirs with Christ. o We have peace with God.

We are justified by faith o We are the temple of God.

We are ambassadors for Christ. o We are citizens of heaven.

We are blessed with every spiritual blessing. There are many other benefits that can be added to this list from the scriptures. They are all gifts of God given to every believer who dedicates his life for his service. Let us strive to know Jesus intimately and believe on him as our Lord and

Saviour. Such intimate knowledge of him will cause us to love him more and more to the point that we will want to do much for his cause. It is my prayer that whatever you have learned during the camp would have richly rewarded you, and have taken you to another level in your Christian walk with Jesus. May the Love of Jesus and the Sweet Fellowship of the Spirit of God rest and remain with you all, during the coming Easter Season. With Every Blessing

Pastor Srikanthan

Two Crowns - Padma Rajanayagam

The Crown of Heaven was exchanged for a Crown of Thorns. In Matthew 27: 26-31, we

read about the last stages of Jesus’ life on the earth.

During Christmas, we celebrated the birth of the son of God, within a space of a few

months; we are remembering the death of the son of God. His death on the cross and

resurrection recognises thirty three years of His sinless life on this planet coming to a new

beginning.

In the incarnation of God, the creator of the universe gave up all His glory and was lying in a

manger among the cattle. Now the same Creator God was facing trials after trials before a

king and a governor for doing good.

After the trials the assignment given to the roman soldiers was to crucify Him. But the

soldiers wanted to degrade the Galilean carpenter. The scouring was over and the

crucifixion was ordered. What happened in between was for the mean pleasure of the

soldiers. An unnamed Roman soldier took some branches and wove a crown. The crown of

thorns was pressed down on His head and drops of blood poured down His head and

brows.

“Thorns” in the bible symbolises consequences of sin. This happened in the Garden of

Eden, Gen 3:17 – why a crown of thorns for this man who knew no sins. Then did it

represent the sins of humanity and the consequences of sin. What are the consequences of

sin? Shame, fear, guilt, disgrace, isolation and the list goes on. Jesus did not have to face

these consequences because He was sinless.

When He took upon Himself our sins, all these emotions came tumbling upon Him. He cried

out “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me” . The giver of light was left in the

darkness of night. He gave up the Crown of Glory for a Crown of thorns., for me and you.

The roman soldier was ignorant of the fact that the crown of thorns which he wore as a

symbol of mokery was the “Exchange” for us believers for a crown of righteousness. We

believers are awaiting for the imperishable crown when we finish our life’s journey. The

king of kings and the Lord of Lords is waiting to crown us with an imperishable crown.

Because Jesus exchanged a crown of thorns for His crown of glory, we are entitled to this

crown.

A Crown signifies royalty, majesty , authority, success, merit, beauty and much more. We

inherit all these because of Jesus exchange. Let us be thankful for the crown of thorns

which our saviour bore on His head.

“What the Roman Soldier intended to be a mokery, God turned it into Salvation”.

Triple Filter Test

In ancient Greece (469-399 B.C) Socrates was well known for his wisdom.

One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance who said

excitedly “Socrates do you know what I just heard about one of your

students?

“Wait a moment” Socrates replied. “ Before telling me anything I would like

you to pass a little test. Its call triple filter test.” Triple Filter? “ That’s right”

Socrates continued. “ Before you talk to me about my student, it might be a

good idea to take a moment and filter what you are going to say. The first

filter is TRUTH. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are going to

tell me is true?

“ No” the man said. “Actually, I just heard about it......”

“All right” said Socrates. “ So you don’t really know if it is true or not”

“ Now let’s try the second filter, the filter is GOODNESS. Is what you are

going to tell me about my student something good”.

“No on the contrary.......”

“So” Socrates continued “you want to tell me something bad about him,

but you are not certain it’s true. You may still pass the test though, because

there is one filter left; the filter is USEFULNESS. Is what you want to tell me

about my student going to be useful to me?

“No, not really”. “Well concluded Socrates “if what you want to tell me is

neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?”

This is the reason Socrates was a great Philosopher and held in such high

esteem. His disciple was Plato, whose disciple was Aristotle, whose disciple

was Gamaliel the Pharisee whose student was Paul the Apostle of Jesus

Christ.

MY PRAYER! (Sent by Sis. Susie Benedict)

Dear Lord, my heart overflows with thanks to you for the good gifts you

have given to me.

For friends and family who share their love with me.

For a future filled with hope, because it rests in your hands.

For peace of mind which goes beyond all my understanding.

How drab, how empty life would be without these gifts. And then, dear

Lord, accept my thanks for the tangible of life. For food, for finances –

and for all those other necessities of modern living. Thank you, too, for

those extra gifts which go beyond necessity. For fun things and fancy

things. For things that delight the mind and lift the heart. For all the

beauty of your creation – I thank you. But most of all, dear Lord, thank

you for coming to this earth, to live, to love, to die, to live again. Thank

you for becoming a man, closed in by a body that got tired and worn,

understanding how I so often feel. Thank you for promising that you

are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. And that through receiving you, I

may live with you in your Father’s house, content in your love forever.

In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour, I pray Amen.

“Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.” 2 Corinthians 9:15
