The Welding Metal Fabrication Technology Program at Jeff Tech is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the following areas:

Ready to make some sparks? You will begin your personal specialized career-building adventure by acquiring entry-level welder skills and knowledge in welding environment safety, fabrication tools and machinery operation, in-demand welding and cutting processes, welding metallurgy, welding blueprint reading, design techniques for welding fabrication, layout techniques for welding, fitting and tacking techniques, custom fabrication project methods, weld quality and inspection techniques and welding certification testing.

The specialized career-building environment offers enormous opportunity to acquire valuable exposure in welding and fabricating metals from light gauge steel, aluminum, stainless steel, light and heavy plate, pipe and tube, and commonly used structural shapes. Custom fabrication projects and artistic metal sculpturing are part of the career building environment for both male and female students. Welding Technology presents career-building opportunities using up-to-date welding equipment technology. Skill-building experience is provided in the following in-demand welding processes:oxyacetylene, shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc, flux cored arc and submerged arc welding.

Metal preparation techniques offer exploration in manual and machine oxyfuel cutting, CNC and manual plasma arc cutting, air carbon arc cutting and gouging, and various machine cutting preparation techniques. Exciting custom welding and fabricating experiences are offered to the student through the following dynamic projects: mini-choppers, jr. dragsters, trailers, metal sculptures and other specialty fabrications. Welding career opportunities exist in every country around the world.
