Calling all Singers!It’s time to start practice for the 2017 Community Cantata. Practice will begin Sunday, September 24th from 2-4 pm at Church of the Straits. This year, the Cantata will be “Go Sing It on the Mountain” and will be performed Sunday, December 10th at 2:00 pm at St. Anthony’s. If you have any questions, please contact Gerry Lou Kania at 231-627-7243. ALL voices are welcome!

Please pray for those whose lives have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey and Irma. If you wish to donate towards disaster relief, you can make your checks out to Church of the Straits, with notation that it is “Disaster Relief” and 100% of your donation will go to Disaster Relief through UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief).

If you are interested in taking Disciple III with Pastor Dave, beginning October 15 at 6:00 pm, please call the office to order your book by next week.

Next week we will take an offering for the 2017 Mission of the Year. This year it will support the Hermansville UMC in Hermansville, MI (in the UP) This church began in 1898 and was rebuilt following a fire in 1903. Severe winter weather has taken a toll on the building and they are in need of a new roof over their ramp area, new gutters along with protective coverings for the windows.
