WOMENS RETREAT

SpringHill MI Women’s Retreat l 2

Welcome to Womens Retreat!

Crisp cool nights. Apple picking, cider, doughnut and Fall sports! The colors that accompany this season are simply breathtaking. Mums burst forth with an array of colors. Green leaves start to show off brilliant colors of yellow, red, and orange. When the sun shines upon those maple trees - they simply look like they have been brush painted with gold! Walking around SpringHill in the Fall will bring many delights to both your eyes and ears. The lakes and streams will sing to you as you take in all the beauty one can behold. Many have said that SpringHill is like a piece of Heaven on earth and we fully agree!

Many of us come to this weekend looking for some refreshment or re-newal within our spirit. We are women who give whole heartedly to our families, churches, jobs, schools, and community. You have come to the right place to be encouraged, challenged, and refreshed.

This weekend we are going to be looking at the theme of ENCOUNTER. We will meet four women who each had a personal encounter with Jesus. Their stories are amazing. Their lives are inspiring. The truths they teach us are nothing short of life changing. Jesus gave them new eyes to see the world differently. Jesus gave them a new purpose. Jesus gave them a new identity. Are you ready to have your life changed? Are you ready to have a personal ENCOUNTER with Jesus? You will never be the same again.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, she is a new creation, the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”2 Corninthians 5:17

Enjoy this weekend hand crafted for you,Denise Perry and the SpringHill Staff

OUR SPEAKER

Alanna Story - Indianapolis, IndianaAnna & Ally Long grew up in a family with deep faith and a long musical heritage. Both sisters received their undergraduate degrees from Anderson University. In 2008, Anna & Ally felt led to pursue their original music and gathered musicians with a similar passion for worship and a vision for awakening.

Liz connects with readers online, takes photos, reads historical novels, watches period films, and immerse herself in research—the more books, the merrier. She admits that she is a lame housekeeper, a marginal cook, and a mediocre gardener, but home is still her favorite place to land.

OUR WORSHIP LEADERS

SpringHill MI Women’s Retreat l 6

It was then that Alanna Story was birthed. Today, they are sisters + their husbands + a friend = a family who loves God, words, and beautiful music. They have released two albums and have shared the stage with many national recording artists. As their territory expands, Alanna Story’s main pursuit remains to love God and to lead others into His presence. Please welcome back a SpringHill favorite; Anna Hodge & Ally West!

Liz Curtis Higgs - Louisville, Kentucky

Has 3 abiding passions: encouraging her sisters in Christ, exploring the stories of women in the Bible, and writing novels set in Scotland of old.

When not traveling, speaking, or spinning a story,

HERE IS WHAT LIZ WILL BE TEACHING ON:

FRIDAY NIGHT: MARY OF NAZARETH“May your word to me be fulfilled.” Luke 1:38A young girl from a backwater village is visited by an angel, who tells her she will give birth to the Son of God. Okay, wow. One-of-a-kind Mary shows us what it means to take a huge leap of faith. SATURDAY MORNING: MARTHA, MARTHA“But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” John 11:22Martha is often portrayed as the too-busy-for-God sister, but as her story unfolds, we’ll see a better, stronger Martha emerge: a woman who is a role model for the ages. Saturday Evening: Mary of Bethany"And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume." John 12:3Three times we’ll find Mary of Bethany sitting at the feet of Jesus. The last encounter will take our breath away, as she pours out her priceless perfume, knowing what sorrow and joy the days ahead will hold. SUNDAY MORNING: MARY MAGDALENE“I have seen the Lord!” John 20:18Mary of Magdala was a former demoniac, set free by her Savior. Not only did He choose her to be the first witness to His resurrection; He also sent her to proclaim the news that changed the world.
