Welcome to this year’s Eat Cambridge festival, the annual fortnight of events

celebrating our delicious local food and drink scene. Eat Cambridge is now in its

fourth year and seems to be growing as quickly as the impressive independents,

chefs, and events that it aims to showcase and support.

This year we’re bringing you another jam-packed festival programme! On the

following pages, you’ll find details of the much-anticipated Eat Cambridge Main

Event, which kicks things off on Saturday 7 May. The huge food and drink fair

features a great line-up of hand-picked stallholders from our local area plus

interactive talks and workshops providing food for thought throughout the day.

You can also browse the festival fringe programme, which runs from Saturday 7 to

Sunday 22 May and is made up of exciting, one-off food and drink events hosted

by our sponsors, local independent businesses, restaurants, cafes, chefs, and

enterprising foodies. Take your pick from the ever-popular official Eat Cambridge

events like our street food night market, food debate, and chef demos, as well as a

whole host of other pop-ups, tasting menus, workshops, and family-friendly feasts.

See you there!

“Hello food fans!”

It’s been another hectic and exciting year of plotting, planning, collaborating, and

organising the festival – I hope you’ve enjoyed getting stuck into this year’s Eat

Cambridge as much as I have! Of course, Eat Cambridge wouldn’t be happening without

the fantastic support it has received from the local community. Thank you to every

stallholder, speaker, fringe event host, chef, venue, blogger, and food lover who got

involved along the way.

This year the festival has benefitted hugely from support and assistance from a fabulous

team of local independents. Massive thank yous are due to our Headline Sponsor

Burwash Manor, Festival Sponsors The Gog and Cambridge Live Trust, and our media

and broadcast partners Cambridge Edition and Cambridge 105. Working with such

supportive, enthusiastic, passionate, and generous organisations has been an absolute

pleasure.

Eat Cambridge owes a lot to a small gang of Festival Friends, too. We’ve worked with

Pint Shop to deliver fantastic fringe events which celebrate the local food scene. We’ve

received the most amazing new website and brochure design thanks to local foodie

design agency Rubber Cheese. We’ve spread the word even further with the help of

flyers, posters, and programmes printed by Minuteman Press. Thank you, friends!

A final, and important, thank you goes to some incredible people helping me out behind

the scenes. A team of volunteers has spent hours flyering, postering, endless social

media posting, proofreading, mucking in at events, and remaining calm and smiling at

all times! Special thanks go to Dr Sue Bailey for working on the Eat Cambridge Food

Debate and to Lyndsey Spellman for managing the talks at the Main Event.

Same time next year?

“Thank You!”

If you’d like to be involved next year, I’d love to hear

from you! Drop me a line...
