Absences: Further detail • Your first point of contact should be the Form Tutor, you can e mail them by using their initial and surname
@georgeabbot.surrey.sch.uk OR e mail the office FAO, bear in mind their teaching commitment but they will respond in 48 hours (usually less) , the last slide of this evenings presentation has their names and their form groups.
• Subject specific queries should be directed to the teacher concerned as they will be able to offer directed support. The names of the teachers are listed on the student’s copies of their timetables.
• If you feel that the issue is more urgent, or of a sensitive nature, Mrs Firth as Head of Year or myself Mrs Bennett (Transition / Inclusion manager) can be contacted. You can e mail or phone us (the school number is 01483 888000) alternatively you can make an appointment to see us. We can however often resolve issues quickly via the phone.
• If you wish to report your child’s absence from school you must inform the School by 9:00am. Failure to do this will result in a text message being sent by our texting system which alerts parents that their child has not registered. We need to be advised each day of your child’s absence. To report an absence please ring the school on 01483 888000 option 1 OR e mail the absence line: [email protected]
• If the absence is planned / medical there are different procedures. All the details are on the website under the PARENTS section under ‘ATTENDANCE’, there is a lot of other information here to, so do familiarise yourself with the site.
• If there is something significant that you feel will affect your child’s well being in school, it is important that you share that with us and we will ensure the relevant staff are made aware.
