It started with a rant! Welcome to this introduction to the Rainmakers’ Club. I hope that this inspires you to join or at the very least ask questions. My name is Chris Batten and I am the CEO of the Rainmakers’ Club. I started my working life in the infantry and became an expert in digging holes, shooting at targets, painting static objects and saluting those that moved! Six active service tours later and it was time to follow another dream. One that avoided the need to be wet, cold, living in ditches and constantly on alert.

So, I replaced that way of life for one that required courage, tenacity, endurance, emotional intelligence and a never say die attitude. The world of running your own business. After a few very predictable failures, things began to change and I became a CEO for an international business. As is often the way all that glisters is not gold, there was something missing! I started to write, which I enjoy immensely, but still there was a hole that needed to be filled.

I found the solution by doing pro-bono work for a number of Start-Up, Micro and Small businesses and I loved it. I found the excitement I had first experienced in the early days. The more I did the more I loved it, but I also felt the frustration of the band of brothers and sisters who make up the population of these smaller but vital business entrepreneurs.

That shared frustration created by the lack of cohesive support when needed the most, turned into a full blown rant, inspired more writing and lead to the innovation that became the Rainmakers Club. Our purpose is simple, to inspire and support the salt of the earth business entrepreneurs who have the courage to start, develop and build their own businesses. At the very least enjoy this introduction, at best come join us and let us become part of your support network on one of the best journeys of your life!

You have a choice of four levels of membership, they are:

Women In Business - This gives you complete access to the entire site and all the resources including unlimited advice and support relating to your business and personal development based on the unique Rainmakers success program. Membership is either £30 per month or £300 for the year.

Inner Circle - Gives you all of the features of Full Membership but also includes regular one-to-one mentoring meetings with the founder. Membership is either £75 per month or £750 for the year.

Special Projects - We also take on special projects outside standard membership on a per project basis for more information or a quote contact us.

Full Member - This gives you complete access to the entire site and all the resources including unlimited advice and support relating to your business and personal development based on the unique Rainmakers success program. Membership is either £30 per month or £300 for the year.

Our Partner Members - The heartbeat of our business! Our partner members are truly at the centre of the journey we are on. I’ve not always been in the business advice and support game. But throughout my career, I have nurtured a passion for helping in the development and success of businesses of all shapes and sizes.

I learnt my trade and fed my passion after leaving the army, by building and selling my businesses and then more recently as a CEO for two international companies. The system we use at Rainmakers is based around this real life experience and the understanding of what it takes to create a sustainable business of true worth.

This passion for helping those in business has been present throughout my entire career, a career that at times has been tumultuous. There were times when I found myself doing the very thing I shout longest and loudest about; being in business and conforming to the mainstream rather than standing out from the crowd, for all the right reasons.

The rainmakers Club is certainly not for the feint hearted, we are not just bucking the age-old conventions of providing support and advice for start-up and small businesses, we are potentially creating the seeds of change for the entire industry. What might seem to be a flippant or even arrogant comment “One day all business support and advice services will work this way” is in fact our dream and the objective that motivates me everyday to make that change happen.
