Welcome to The Rocks Village Bizarre, proudly presented by Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.
Last year The Rocks Village Bizarre proved that Sydney is eager to embrace all things weird and wonderful. This year, the Foreshore
Authority will pull back the velvet curtain on an even more adventurous program of unexpected delights.
Each evening will encompass new performances so you never know what you’ll discover once you step inside this curious world.
The Rocks Village Bizarre is only one of the many fantastic events the Foreshore Authority produces in The Rocks every year.
Our outstanding events attract millions of visitors and provide an important contribution to the NSW economy.
So wherever the Village Bizarre takes you, it is an event so fascinating, in a place so intriguing; you’re bound to find yourself
here many times before the final curtain.

Journey to the edge of your imagination for a curious night out in the village where almost anything is possible.
CABINET OF CURIOSITIES
Not human, but as near as possible, the small but perfectly formed Cabinet of Curiosities potters around in life’s nooks and crannies. What you’ll see in here is a mystery but you can be sure it’s peculiar, it’s ticklish, it’s grotesque and it’s always glorious. Join the queue and be transformed.

THE PARLOUR
It’s all fun and games in The Parlour. Step into an instant romantic rendezvous or get a fast fortune on a speed date with The Argyle Oracle. Perhaps partake in a little grooming with the Barber Supreme, be coiffured by MOHS Hair and Beauty or be counselled like a Hollywood star at the Kino Klinik.

THE SCENE
The social centre of the bizarre or the bizarre social centre? Dive into the village square’s roaring 1920s speakeasy bar The Gin Mill Social, moonlit cabaret lounge Club Bizarre, make-believe cardboard city and Aunties Blackfella Bingo hall and decide for yourself.
The Rocks Square
REVOLUTIONARY ROAD
It may be a little lane to nowhere but with cyclists powering Magnificent Revolution’s outdoor cinema, and part-existential, part-farcical projections from Loonatic Spectacular’s kooky man in the moon; here you can’t help but go places.

LOST LANEWAYS
Around these parts it’s all about the Irascible Dr Mackellar’s orders. He’ll write you a script for rousing oddments of vaudeville, magic, theatre, comedic convict showmanship and a playful one-on-one party. And with laneway characters like these, who are you to argue?

YOURS TRULY
Without you there is no story to tell. With you there are beauty-inspired phone calls from faceless strangers in Make the Call, a hunt for the haunted in Paranormal Fright Nights, a penchant for shady shenanigans in The Rocks Push Game and ocular inconspicuousness in You’re Invisible. Sign up and sail away.
Various locations, see info booth for details.
THE MARKETS BIZARRE
Under the cover of darkness traders from The Rocks Markets ply all manner of enviable and edible treasures. Amid the stalls the curious can slip into the tiny burlesque Umbrella Theatre, the perplexed can seek help from the Gift Guru and the flamboyant can capture their moment at In An Instant Photography.

CATCH AND KEEP
The chase is on. With roaming rarities like these you never know who or what might entice you next. Step out into the streets and catch Croon-a-Cart’s karaoke party-in-a-trolley or be swept away as flag-waving collective 110% inspires endurance and optimism.

THE SOCIAL LIFE AND SOUL
If there’s something you need to be part of, you’ll find it in the village square.
The start, middle and end of everything, The Rocks Square’s The Scene effortlessly spans space and time with a glorious program of possibility.
It’s prohibition time. Creak open the rusty corrugated iron gate and step from The Rocks of today to roaring 1920s speakeasy bar, The Gin Mill Social, quicker than you can say ‘why dahlin’, won’t you get me a gin’.
It’s the future, or some curious type of future. You’re invited to zin’s Party Mode—a massive one night party where the line between reality and utopia is hazy. It’s epic, exciting, shocking, provocative and mind-blowing.
It’s whatever time you desire. With headphones to guide you through a make-believe cardboard city, I met you in a city that isn’t on the map beckons you to construct, demolish or contemplate and reflect.
HOLE IN THE SKY BAR
Slip behind a bird mask and step from pavement to strange skylike other-world in the deliciously dark and captivating Hole in the Sky.
Inside the air is fuelled by DJ beats and the intoxicating freedom of anonymity as everyday faces transform into exotic birds.
Unfurl your wings in a nest with a Rocks Brewery beer or cider in hand, chill out in a cocoon under a twinkling indoor sky, discover a room in the clouds and be drawn into celluloid snapshots and whimsically strange projections.
Where last year white rabbits hopped into urban bar legend, this year a bird-inspired mask is your permit to this allusive roost that’s sure to be impossible to leave.
Birds-only venue—grab a mask at the info booth and follow the feathers to the Hole in the Sky.

THE ROCKS PUSH GAME
It’s game on so frock up, gang up and dance in the mean streets of The Rocks.
