The Parish Partnership of St. Luke and St. Teresa
is seeking a full-time Director of Liturgy & Music Music responsibilities include accompanying four weekend
Masses, one weekday school Mass, holy days, sacramental liturgies, weddings and funerals; directing and/or
overseeing an adult choir, handbell choir, contemporary ensemble, and adult and youth cantors. Liturgy responsibilities include planning and coordinating celebrations, training
liturgical ministers, and serving on the liturgy committee.
Instruments at St. Teresa (a midcentury-modern church) include a 30 rank/66 stop Wicks/Walker organ and
Yamaha grand piano. Instruments at St. Luke (an historic basilica-style church) include a 15 rank Kilgen organ and Kawai grand piano.
Bachelor’s degree in music or liturgy is required, Master’s preferred. Proficiency in organ, piano, and choral directing
and experience with Catholic liturgy is required. May consider
splitting into two part-time positions. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and scope of duties. To apply, send a cover letter and resume to [email protected].
This weekend we bid farewell to our Music and
Liturgy Director, Mr. Scott Pluff. As a parish, we
are most grateful for the wonderful liturgy and
music program we have experienced during his
tenure at St. Teresa Parish. I am grateful for the
many programs he was able to begin in the parish such as
our Liturgy Committee, Sacristans, Contemporary
Ensemble, Student Cantors; as well as to continue many of
the hallmarks of the St. Teresa music program, especially
our choir and cantors. I appreciate his help with training
individuals in the various liturgical ministries and assisting
Connie with scheduling of them. Scott was also able to
assist with many events at the parish, share his insights with
planning for our parish partnership and assist us with social
media. He will be missed! Best wishes, Scott, as you
transition to St. Joseph Parish in Cottleville, Missouri!
Msgr. David Darin
RESPECT LIFE CORNER Every Life is Worth Living – “Every human person-no matter how vulnerable, or helpless, no matter how healthy, handicapped or sick, no matter how useful or productive for society-is a being of inestimable worth created in the image and likeness of God.”
Pope John Paul II, The Gospel of Life. Learn, Act, Connect, Pray: Persons with disabilities share their gifts and needs, they bring out the best in our mutual humanity. They need to feel our solidarity with them, and to know their true dignity and worth. Pray that we learn to be more fully human and compassionate, to recognize the presence of God in each human being.
