“FEED THE CHILDREN”
What? Advent Project sponsored by the Joint Parish
Social Concerns Committee
Why? To support the school day nutrition program for
the children of Baraka Kindergarten School at our Sister
Parish in Saikeri, Kenya. This school, which opened in
January of 2019, was built through the generous donation
of an anonymous donor from our parish.
Who? There are currently 35 children, aged 4-6, attend-
ing the school. In January, 2020, 35 more children and
an additional teacher will be joining the school.
How? A donation of $6 for a month ($72 for the full
year,) will provide porridge in the morning as well as
lunch each school day for one child. Without this nutri-
tion program these children would have nothing to eat
during the school day.
To make a donation, visit the “Feed the Children”
display in your church. Envelopes are provided there
for you to place your donation in, as well as a sign-up
sheet if you would like your donation to go towards a
specific child. You may take an envelope home with
you if you would like time to think about your gift.
Also, if you choose to donate $72 for a child for a full
year’s nutrition program, you are welcome to take
that child’s picture home with you as a reminder to
keep that child in your prayers throughout the year.
(We have pictures of the children who are currently
enrolled at the school, but have only silhouettes to
represent the children who will be joining the school
in January.) * We ask that all donations be returned
to your parish and placed in the box by the “Feed the
Children” display by the weekend of January 4
th
and
5
th
so that we may get the funds to our sister parish as
soon as possible. Any checks should be made payable
to St. Anthony Parish with Mission Fund on the
memo line. Joint Social Concerns Committee
Attention Parishioners. 2018 Parish Contributions
would be appreciated by December 31, 2018 to allow
us to credit your statements, do the paperwork and
close the 2018 books in a timely manner. Thank you!
