Events in the APECS NL pipeline
• ‘Meet the scientist’ day• Visit EC or senior scientist in his/ her natural environment. Explain more
about project, collaborations and visit the lab. Easily combine with workshop on any of the suggested topics
• ‘Movie/ discussion’ event• Together with ‘jongNWO’ about science and policy. Also possibly combine
with e.g. career or communication workshop
• Pool tot pool dag• March 11, 2017. General polar event for Dutch public in the Museum of
ethnology in Leiden. Excellent opportunity for APECS outreach!

Future events:Antarctica Day (1st December):
- To demonstrate how diverse nations can work together peacefully, using science as a global language of cooperation for decision making beyond national boundaries- Provide strategies for students learning about Antarctica through art, science and history- Increase collaboration and communication between classrooms, communities, researchers and government officials around the world- Provide a focus for polar educators to build on each year
