About this ConferenceThis years’ theme is: "Power of the Past-Force of the Future." The purpose of the 2019 GHSA Fall LeadershipConference is to provide an opportunity for individuals responsible for teaching and nurturing children, at all levels, todiscuss current issues, exchange information, and learn valuable insights from experts in the field of early childhoodcare, education, and development.
This conference will include plenary and workshop session relevant for management, staff, and parents working withtoday’s children to pave the way for student success and a promising tomorrow. Concurrent workshops provide acomprehensive array of professional development opportunities will be provided for participants who live, teach,work with, and serve children from birth to age five and their families. Workshops are designed to build knowledge,develop skills, and enhance personal growth. The Rev. Dr. Raphael Gamaliel Warnock has served, since 2005, as theSenior Pastor of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, spiritual home of TheRev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The son of two Pentecostal pastors, Dr.Warnock responded to the call to ministry at a very early age, and became,at age 35, the fifth and the youngest person ever called to the seniorpastorate of Ebenezer Church, founded in 1886.
Under Pastor Warnock’s leadership, more than 5,000 new members havejoined Ebenezer, enhancing the Church’s legacy of social activism with bothspiritual and numerical growth. Additionally, he has led Ebenezer in asuccessful fundraising campaign to build the $8.5 million Martin Luther King,Sr. Community Resources Complex which houses the Church’sadministrative offices, the fellowship hall, classrooms, meeting rooms anda MLK Collaborative of several nonprofit partners, including Casey FamilyPrograms and The Center for Working Families, all engaged together inhelping individuals and families to improve their own life outcomes and livehealthier and more prosperous lives.

Mark A. Davis, MPA, works as a Field Operations Manager for DLH Corporation,a Non-Profit Consultant, and Keynote Speaker. Mark has over 20 years ofleadership experience and is considered a national expert in the field of HeadStart and Early Head Start services. He has served in almost every facet ofprogram operations, up to and including the position of HS/EHS Director.
In his previous role, Mark served as the Training & Technical AssistanceCoordinator for the Office of Head Start, Region IV in which he was responsiblefor quality T/TA services for over 300 programs.
