“’Do you believe in the Son of Man?’ He answered and said, ‘Who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?’ ‘You have seen Him, and the One speaking with you, is He.’ He said, ‘I do believe, Lord’ and he worshiped Him.’”(Jn 9:35-38) This is Laetare “Let us rejoice” Sunday! What an encouragement as this is also the first weekend when we cannot celebrate the Eucharist publically as we join in faith and solidarity to ensure that the COVID - 19 virus doesn’t spread widely through our community. We are called to make the journey of the man born blind and discover who Jesus is anew! He is the light of the world. It is by Him that we see all things in their proper light and are given insight into the saving mysteries of God. COVID - 19 will not prevent those who seek to encounter Jesus this day and especially this Easter! We are able to rejoice because we can see Jesus, the light of the world, shining in the darkness! God is doing some great work right now and in it we can rejoice! That does not mean the days unto Easter and beyond will be easy. The man born blind was ridiculed by the religious leaders of his day and was thrown out by the Pharisees! We can identify with his experience of great adversity but he persevered because of the personal encounter that he had with Jesus and the healing that Jesus gave him. Jesus is asking each of us the same question, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” Our “yes” will yield great reward! Find a way to worship Him today with your family if possible or own your own or with someone else. Reflecting over today’s gospel and the gospels for each day and share how those messages can be lived each day. Know of my prayers during this difficult time. Please keep the bishop, myself, and all the priests in your prayers!

Why have you waited so long to pray?
If you check 1 Timothy 2:2-4 you find PRAYER is first on the list of priorities in a church. We petition and intercede so we can continue to live godly and tranquil lives, and have many opportunities to tell
what God is doing. Prayer makes a difference in God achieving His purpose in our world.
Would you like to join St. Anthony’s “PRAYER LINE” of constantly praying people? Please call Barbara at
307-277-6977.
