The display gives you anyimportant messages.
The 10 digit numeric keypad iswhere you use your PIN code.
The A B C D keys helpsimplify use, and will light tohighlight your choice of securitycover, or flash if there is aproblem.
This is where you use your Tag.

The Meridian Keypad

All setting points (Meridian keypadsor Tag Readers) have lamps toclearly indicate what is happening.
The ‘Power’ lamp will flash if themains supply fails.The ‘Alarm’ lamp will flash if analarm occurs.
The ‘Tamper’ lamp will flash ifMeridian’s wiring or equipment istampered with.
The ‘Fault’ lamp will indicate if atechnical fault occurs and will flashif you cannot set the system for anyreason.
The ‘Unset’ lamp will light ifMeridian is completely Unset(steady) or if some areas remainSet (flashing)

Meridian's High SecurityProximity Tag can be used to setor unset your Alarm System withthe minimum of fuss or complexity.
The Tag contains NO batteriesand is completely maintenancefree.
Just touch the Tag to the logoto use.
The keypad will BEEP toacknowledge the Tag.

Before you switch Meridian onYou must ensure all doors andwindows are securely closed andany pets or people are excludedfrom areas protected bymovement sensors.

Security Checks
If you are leaving the building,go to the Keypad andkey in your PIN code, or presentyour Tag
Exit tone starts.
The appropriate area (ABCD)keys will light.
Leave by the agreed exit route.
Close and lock the final exit door.
Finally, press the 'Push to Set'button (if fitted) that is mountedexternally by the final exit door.
Exit tone will cease.
Meridian is now SET.

Leaving the building

If when you key in your PIN Codeor present your Tag a warningtone sounds and the fault lampcomes on, a message will showthe nature of the problem.
If appropriate an ‘ABCD’ key willflash to indicate in which area thefault exists.
The tone will cease after about10 seconds.
Press the ‘NO’ key
Meridian will revert to its previousstate, so you can resolve theproblem.
For example you may have left adoor open, if so close the door.
Now commence the settingprocedure again

If when you have closed the finalexit door (and pushed the 'Pushto Set' button if fitted), the exittone continues to sound aninterrupted tone....

You have most probably left aprotected door on the exit routeopen.
Return to the keypad and notethe message on the display.
Switch Meridian off with yourPIN code, or Tag.
Close the open door
Now commence the settingprocedure again (see B2)

Just key in your PIN code orPresent your Tag.
The Alarm will stop sounding.
The display will indicatethe problem and the appropriatelamp will light.
Press the 'YES' key.
Meridian will advise you on theaction to take if needs be.

When Meridian has been resetafter an alarm a random 5-digitcode may be displayed, alongwith the message "RESETREQUIRED".
Normally it is then necessary foran engineer, from your installingcompany, to check the installationand reset the system for furtheruse.
But if you have caused thealarm in error your AlarmReceiving Centre may permit youto reset the system without anengineer present.
You will be required to quotethis 5-digit code by telephone(advise them that the system is aCastle ‘EURO-MERIDIAN' ). Youwill then be given a special codewhich will reset the system forthat one occasion only.

Sometimes your security needswill be a little more complex andyou will need to use Meridian'sA B C D keys.
Your Installer can also give namesto all four of the A B C D areas,so that you can easily identifythem.

In addition, names can be givento the whole system‘ALL AREAS’These will be displayed whensetting the system

In a domestic setting you may wishto ignore a window you havedeliberately left open in thesummer time.
Enter your PIN code or presentyour Tag.
The display will ask if you wish toleave the window open.
To omit the window Press ‘YES’(or ‘NO’ if you don’t!)
Meridian will then set as normal.
The window will be omitted forthis one arming period only.
Note. Only already open doorsor windows can be omitted in thisway.

Key in the number of the zoneyou wish to omit and press 'YES'(Always use a leading zero e.g. 02 is zone 2On larger systems 002 is zone 2)
If it has been accepted it will bedisplayed on the screen.
Repeat for any other zones thatneed to be omitted.After 10 seconds Meridianwill begin to Set.These zones will be omitted forthis one period only.

Pressing the 'NO' key will takeyou from one Menu to the next(as well as 'Escaping' from withina Menu).
