Ways to Support RYLA
• Sponsor:– Campers– Meal or Snack– Staff Scholarships– Hands
• Serve Meals• Transport a camper• Spread the word• Follow-up with RYLA alumni for program presentations • Invite RYLA alumni to your club events & projects
Club Coordinator Responsibilities
• Recruitment– Spread the word
• Selection– Interview candidates– Select primary & alternates (1boy/1girl)
• Registration– Application must be accurate
• Orientation/Communication– Stay in touch with campers and parents

DEADLINES
• January 30th – Club sponsorship form• $25 discount/camper if paid
• March 31st – Registration Packets & Payments • Full price: $475• ALL alternate packets also due at this time
• May 1st – Club volunteer forms due (4 pgs)• Drivers, kitchen volunteers, etc
• June 28th – Camp begins – deliver campers• July 3rd – Camp ends – pick up campers.
Camper Criteria
• Articulate• Proactive• Sound moral character• Gets along well with others• Flexibility when facing new situations• Is able to participate in strenuous physical
activity (lift 40 lbs, jog ¼ mile)
Be aware of…
• GPA below 2.5 • Top tier students – captain of the football
team• Having behavioral or emotional problems• Are classified as with a social disorder• Should not be “selected” for camp• Those that won’t fully participate in camp.• Respect our limits
Invest wisely
• Put effort into the selection process– Interviews– Ask schools for help, make sure they know the
criteria for campers and the purpose of camp
Communication will save money!
• Parental Consent Form• Meet the parents• Stay in touch
– Monthly March-May– Weekly if necessary in June
• Don’t forget transportation!• Invite them to your club before & after camp• Stay connected!–Have camper help recruit next year!
