Dear Friends of St. Paul School,

Welcome to the 10th Annual St. Paul School Dinner Auction.

I am grateful you have made a commitment to be here this evening. Many people have worked hard to prepare for this evening

and you have come to help make our annual dinner auction a success.

God has given us our students to form in the faith and to gain wisdom and knowledge to succeed. We work very hard to improve

upon what already exists as an excellent education at St. Paul Catholic School, thanks in part to the sacrifice of treasure you offer

this evening. Your help and the offerings of parishioners ensures the future of our school.

At last year’s auction, “Fund-A- Need” provided the funds to acquire six new Smartboards for our school. Our goal this year is

to purchase an additional six boards.

Volunteers have been hard at work with planning, promotion, procurement of auction items, assembling baskets, decorating and

much more. I thank the chairpersons, Dawn Autry & Heidi Kukowski, our development director, Mrs. Renee Mitchell, and all

volunteers for offering their time and energy.

My thanks does not fully express my gratitude for your supporting our annual dinner auction and for your presence here this

evening. I pray that our stewardship of your donations will prove our appreciation.

Thank you for being here this evening. Please pray that our loving God will continue to give success to the work of our hands at

St. Paul School. You are always welcome to visit our school.

Blessings to you and God bless you,

Father Pat Jakel, Pastor

St. Paul Parish, Highland

Good evening and welcome!

This year’s Annual Dinner Auction marks our tenth year in celebrating and supporting the educational program at St. Paul

Catholic School! We are so thankful for the ongoing dedication of so many people – from our donors that give so freely, to the

volunteers that devote so much time and energy, and to our guests that generously continue to ensure that students attending St.

Paul Catholic School are offered an excellent faith-based education.

I would like to express a special thank you to Renee Mitchell and Co-Chairs Dawn Autry and Heidi Kukowski. I have observed

the many hours you’ve dedicated to organizing and planning for tonight’s event. I would like to also thank the workers that have

been “behind the scenes” – putting together baskets, creating decorations, procuring donations, and so much more. Your

dedication to the future and success of St. Paul School is greatly appreciated.

The “Fund a Need” this year will once again focus on assisting and providing funds to continue to update our Smartboard

technology. The first Smartboards were purchased in 2009 and we began to replace the older boards following the 2017 Fund a

Need. We are now looking forward to upgrading additional boards and placing this advance technology system in more

classrooms which will enhance the daily instruction for the students.

May you enjoy this wonderful evening!

With a thankful heart,

Kathy Sherman,

Principal

Fund-A-Need

The St. Paul Catholic School Dinner Auction has always generated

enthusiastic and generous support for our Annual Fund-a-Need. The

‘needs’ fulfilled in the past years are:

2009 – Smartboards

2010 – Laptops for the Classrooms

2011 – Music Department Enhancements

2012 – Playground for Middle Grades

2013 – Additional Smartboards, Sports Uniforms, iPads, and

Portable Computer Lab

2014 – Technology Enhancements – Chromebooks and iPads

2015 – Updated Junior High Science Classroom

2016 – Primary Playground Renovation

2017 - Smartboards

We are pleased to continue this year to improve the educational

technology for our students. There have been many technological

advancements in the production of Smartboards. We are hoping to

generate funds to continue the process of upgrading our older

Smartboards. The new interactive flat panels will provide exciting

new learning experiences for our students!

We hope you will support this fundraising effort during a special

Fund-a-Need segment halfway through the Live Auction. Many

levels of donation amounts will be offered. Please lift your paddle

during this segment to support our ongoing commitment to provide

these resources to our students.

The students, faculty, and staff of St. Paul Catholic School are very

grateful for your support and generosity.

SILENT AUCTIONS The silent auction has been separated into three sections:

Silent Auction A is located in the bar area.

Silent Auction B is located to the left of the stage.

Silent Auction C is located to the right of the stage.

Each section will be closing at different times. There will be an announcement prior to the close

of each silent auction section.

With each silent auction item, you will find a bid sheet. Bidders are required to fill in their

bidder number by the preprinted bid amount. Please note the preprinted amounts reflect the

minimum increases. All bid increases must be those printed on the bid sheets. Any other bid

amounts will be disqualified.

BUY IT NOW At the bottom of each bidder sheet is a “buy it now” price. If you want to guarantee that you will

win the item, you may choose to bid that amount. If you do so, write your bidder number on the

sheet, and immediately take the sheet to one of the volunteers in that area.

About 15 -30 minutes following the closing of each silent auction section, an announcement will

be made that the high bidders have been posted on a chart at the entrance of each silent auction

section. At that time, bidders may check the chart to see if they have won the high bid of any of

the auctioned items. If so, they should see an auction assistant to claim their winning item.

Winning bidders must sign the bid sheet to verify that they have picked up their item and

that they agree to the stated price. Once the item has been signed for, the winning bidder

may claim the prize. It is the bidder’s responsibility to safeguard the item and pay for it at

the bank prior to leaving for the evening.
