JUST Get Focused! 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. Slide 35 JUST Get Focused! 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Slide 36 JUST Get Focused! Do This In REMEMBRANCE Of Jesus! Slide 37 JUST Get Focused! We come together and remember what Jesus did for us on the cross Slide 38 JUST Get Focused! 1 Corinthians 10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? Slide 39 JUST Get Focused! The BREAD reminds us of His physical body Slide 40 JUST Get Focused! Matthew 26:67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands Slide 41 JUST Get Focused! Matthew 27:26-31 26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. 27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. Matthew 27:26-31 28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! Matthew 27:26-31 30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. Slide 44 JUST Get Focused! We must NEVER forget the physical suffering that Jesus endured on our behalf Slide 45 JUST Get Focused! The JUICE reminds us of His shed blood Slide 46 JUST Get Focused! John 19:17-18 17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: 18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. John 19:28-30 28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. John 19:32-35 34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. 35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. Slide 51 JUST Get Focused! We must NEVER forget the worth of Jesus priceless blood that was shed for us! Slide 52 JUST Get Focused! Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Slide 53 JUST Get Focused! Focusing on the selfless death of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and our Savior, ought to be enough to rebuke the selfishness and senselessness that permeates so much of the church today! Slide 54 JUST Get Focused! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. JUST Get Right! 1 Corinthians 11:27-32 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. And the rest will I set in order when I come. Slide 67 JUST Get Real! Communion (coming together) is about Love and Fellowship with Jesus and Believers Slide 68 JUST Get Real! Its not about food and drink Slide 69 JUST Get Real! Communion helps us, on a regular basis, to put Jesus and others before our own priorities and preferences Slide 70 JUST Get Real! Realize that you can eat anywhere Slide 71 JUST Get Real! But if you are so centered on the food, the Bible says Stay At Home!
