Generally, the strong people would be the ones to be employed first. These late laborers were surely the weak and feeble. What do we think now of an employer who comes along and takes these people, paying them as much as all the others? Only a merciful God who thinks differently from us, human beings could do this. Gods ways are not our ways as the first reading tells us. The Jews had seen themselves as the privileged and strong ones. They looked low on the gentiles. Jesus wanted them to know that the Kingdom of God belongs to all, and we are invited not because of our merits but because of Gods love, lavished on each one according to His design. It is not the amount of time we have as Christians that matters but the quality of love that we manifest; love that should overflow to all, so that every- body may enjoy Gods love today and in eternity.

As we begin another Faith Formation Year we encour-age parents to set an example for their children. Par-ents are the child's first teacher. Religious education starts from home by parents living their faith on a daily basis.

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Luke 18:16

Al comenzar otro Año de Formación de Fe, alentamos a los padres a dar un ejemplo para sus hijos. Los padres son el primer maestro del niño. La educación religiosa comienza desde casa por los padres que viven su fe diariamente.

Yard Sale Update!

We are in our final weeks of prepara-

tion for the Annual Yard Sale are our

team is working hard to make this a

success! We have made over $400 just in

sales via Facebook!! The event is

happening on Friday, October 6th

from 8am to 12pm and Saturday, October

7th from 7am to 2pm.

Please take note of the bulletin board

in the Narthex - we are still in need

of volunteers to help, so add your

name to what appeals to you most! Also,

search your garage, your closets, your

bookshelves, or extra rooms for items

you might donate - we are still accept-

ing donations for items that are clean

and in good repair and that will sell!

Our goal is to raise $7500 with this

event that will be used for much needed

repairs to the Parish. Any questions

can be directed to Leslie Brown at

336-207-7502 or [email protected]
