Pastor’s Corner

Each one has his/her own types of burden in life. The heavy the burden is, also the more worry to become. In fact, no one likes to have burden. All want to have life free from any kind of burdens, struggles and etc. It seems that we cannot escape from this kind of ex-perience but yet we can overcome it. Only in Jesus Christ whom we can find rest and overcome our bur-den if we only come to him. And he invites and as-sures us in this Sunday’s Gospel “come to me, all you who labor and are burden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light” (Mt.11: 28-30).

Mission Cooperation Plan Speaker Weekend of July 15-16

During weekend masses for July 15-16 our parish will par-ticipate in the diocesan Mission Cooperative Plan and we welcome Tristen Seagondollar who works with the mis-sions in Haiti. The Missionary Cooperative plan assigns a mission group to every parish to speak about the work of our church in other parts of the world and to remind us that our church is fundamentally a Mission Church. Our diocesan mission office assigned Hands Together - a Cath-olic mission outreach working in Haiti - to share with us news of how our church Continues to help the poorest of the poor. The Church in Haiti is struggling to bring God's love to the many hurting people and We are the comfort. In Haiti there are 10.9 million people in an area smaller than Maryland. 70% of these cannot read, and 85% live below poverty level. In slum areas 4 out of 5 children do not reach the age of five, and nationally 1 in 3 children suf-fer from chronic malnutrition. The hurricanes in 2004 and 2008, along with the devastating January 12, 2010 earth-quake and hurricane later that same year, have left Haiti severely damaged and in desperate need of our prayers and Support.

Hands Together runs free schools, medical clinics and nu-trition programs in Cite Soleil, providing 25,000 daily school meals and helping thousands of people who strug-gle to survive. Their work among the violence and savage poverty there is founded upon the Catholic Social teach-ings of the dignity of human life and a preferential option for the poor. Hands Together embraces a clear ethic of life based on Catholic teaching that proclaims God's infinite and absolute love for us. About one-third of Hands To-gethers' mission Work supports educational, health, chari-ty, and developmental projects in City Soleil, The Dioceses of Gonaives and Cap Haitien where more than 1 million live in abject poverty.

Tristen Seagondollar is a faithful volunteer for Hands Together who makes service trips to Haiti and gives mis-sion talks at parishes in the United States.

The Peter’s Pence Collection will take place This weekend as a second collection.

The Peter's Pence Collection has ancient Christian roots, linking back to the New Testament times when people would provide material support to those preaching the Gos-pel to distribute to those in need (see Acts 4:3435, 11:29). Today the collection is the way we as members of the Catho-lic Church unite ourselves to the concerns of the Holy Fa-ther. Donations to this collection support the charitable works of Pope Francis for the assistance of those most in need. How Pope Francis Invites Us to Make the World Less Cold and More Just In his 2016 Urbi et Orbi address, Pope Francis reminds us, "The Lord ... enables us to see with his eyes of love and com-passion those who hunger and thirst, strangers and prison-ers, the marginalized and the Outcast, the victims of oppres-sion and violence.” By opening our eyes to the suffering and injustice in the world, we can open our hearts to the call of Pope Francis that "efforts be made everywhere to promote the culture of encounter, justice and reciprocal respect, which alone can guarantee the spiritual and material welfare of all people." How You Can Help PRAY Pray for the Holy Father as he reaches out compas-sionately to make the world less cold and more just, and for those around the world who are suffering and will benefit from this collection. SHARE As a way to spread the message of mercy and peace, share this flier with someone who might be interested and tell others how Pope Francis supports the marginalized. GIVE Please give generously to this collection, as a witness of charity, and give hope to those who suffer around the globe.

THANK YOU TO

THE HOSPITALITY CAFÉ

We would like to thank the Hospitality Café for the donation of Bibles to the youth Religious Education program for the com-ing year. This dona-tion was made possi-ble by the work of the

Hospitality Café ministers as they prepare coffee and donuts after Mass every Sunday, and by your sup-port.

So stop by after Mass for coffee and a donut and thank those folks for their weekly volunteering, and remember, that you are supporting the ministries of the parish.

Classes for Baptism Changes to a new day of the month

The classes for Baptism will change to the third Thursday of every month . Baptism class will be take place from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm and will be conducted by Deacon Stephen O’Riordan.

E u ch a r i s t i c Adoration at OLR - Your time will be rewarded. Our Lady of the Rosary church es-tablished a small adoration chapel to allow you to spend more time with Jesus in the Eucha-rist. Commitments for adoration begin at, but not limited to, one hour per week. Adoration chapels are a great

blessing for parishes and it is a way for you to enter more deeply into your faith. The best starting point to become more Christ-like in your daily life is to spend more time with him. You will gradually be trans-formed and experience unexpected blessings. You will become more who God made you to become and ad-vance more surely along that path as you become transformed through your faithfulness to the graces that you receive.

Please, Come to Church Dressed Appropriately! To be modestly and tastefully dressed is a sign of respect for God, for our selves, and for others. It’s a false assump-tion that God does not care how we dress. Jesus told us, “Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, you do it to me.” If our attire is indecently provocative (short shorts, strapless, backless, spaghetti strap dresses/tops, or display-ing cleavage), displaying unwholesome graphics (skulls, advertisements, scantly clad people) or tattered, it becomes offensive to our brothers and sisters who are worshipping the Lord and therefore offensive to God’s Majesty. Ask this question: “Would you dress this way before God?” You are! He sees everything and you are in His house.
