Home Reading• Book bags in school everyday• Read everyday at home• Record in the children's diary• Phonic sounds• High-frequency words (read and spell)

Homework

• Homework given out every 2 weeks

• Expectation that it is completed

• 2 week ongoing working project

• Completed on one page• Be creative!

• Spellings given out each week-tested every Friday

Educational Visits

• We have the opportunity to go on lots of educational visits• Enrich the curriculum• Year 1-Dinosaur Museum• Year 2-Aston Villa Football Ground• Encourage that all children attend and take part• Small donation is required• Difficulties in paying please come and see us to let us know

Attendance

• Excellent attendance is crucial to children's progress and learning • Call the school office before 9.30am to report any illness• If a call isn’t made the school will contact you• If no contact is made a visit from school may take place• All term time holidays will not be authorised• School doors open at 8.45am• All children MUST be in school by 8.55am for the register

Mornings

• If you wish to speak to the teacher in the morning please arrive at 8.45am• At 8.55am the door will be closed and locked• Please encourage your children to come into school independently

putting their own coats and book bags away
