• My approach to learning is a shared responsibility between home & school…we can’t make it possible without “a 2 way street”.

• Correct spelling is encouraged throughout all areas of the curriculum.
• Parts of speech are reinforced within students’ writing.
• The formal “Writing Process” is exercised with each step outlined. (Lucy Calkins Series)
• Sentence structure is reviewed, & students are urged to use a variety of sentence types in their writing.
Social Studies
• World Geography course• Global Studies Weekly magazine• Internet sights to enhance concepts• Channel One News broadcasts• News Team Projects

• Checking Smart-board first for daily agenda• Homework cannot be completed during this
time. (only MORNING SEATWORK)
• See me if they need help with anything • Sharpen pencils and submit notes/ lunch
money• Early finishers should SSR/get organized • They are reminded “It’s not social hour!”
