Our Mission is to prepare students for careers in industry or for graduate study in engineering or related fields.
Our curriculum emphasizes the fundamentals and will provide you with courses that allow you to specialize in your chosen fields of study. To help ready you for life in the larger community, we seek to maintain a balance among humanistic-social subjects, the physical sciences, and engineering studies.

RIT ME Competition Teams – On A Roll!
RIT's Formula SAE racing team took FIRST PLACE IN THE Audi Best Lightweight Design Concept in Germany 2013.
WE@RIT Hot Wheels team took first place for Most Innovative Build in Dr. Destler’s “E-Durance” Challenge
RIT is the only University EVER to win first place in both SAE Formula and SAE Baja in the same year!

• M.E. accounted for 10.5% of all freshman applicants to RIT!

Scholarships! The Rochester Engineering Society administers several scholarships on behalf of our affiliate organizations. By becoming a collegiate member of the RES you will get timely information about how to apply for scholarships that you are eligible for!
Who is eligible to join the RES as a Collegiate Member?
Students who are currently enrolled in RIT Engineering are eligible for collegiate student membership in the Rochester Engineering Society. Students do not have to be from the Rochester area to apply for membership. In fact, membership in the RES is a great way to make local professional connections for students who are not originally from Rochester! International and domestic students are eligible for membership.
How do I join?
Thanks to a gift from an Anonymous donor The Mechanical Engineering Department will Purchasememberships for ALL first year Mechanical Engineering Students. The Department will fill out the registration form with the necessary information, and you will receive a confirmation e-mail . After the first year Student membership dues are only $30 per year.
