Adding Images
A way to a picture from the web: 1. On the Web page, right-click the picture that you want2. Click Save Picture As on the shortcut menu 3. Enter the name that you want in the File name box4. Click Save5. In your worksheet, presentation, or e-mail message, on the Insert
tab, in the Illustrations group, click Picture.6. Locate the picture that you saved in step 2, and then click InsertA way to copy a picture from the web: 1. On the Web page, right-click the picture that you want, and then
click Copy on the shortcut menu 2. In your worksheet, presentation, or e-mail message, right-click
where you want to insert the picture3. Click Paste on the shortcut menu.
Design Themes
A way to add a background style to your presentation
o Click the slide or slides that you want to add a background style to .
o On the design tab, in the background group, click the arrow next to background styles.
o Right-click the background style that you want, and then do one of the following:
o To apply the background style to the selected slides, click apply to selected slides.
Slide Layout and Titles
Create a new custom layout1. On the View tab, in the Presentation Views group, click Slide
Master.2. In the pane that contains the slide masters and layouts,
locate and click the Blank Layout in the list of thumbnail layouts below the slide master.
3. To remove unwanted, default placeholders such as headers, footers, or the date and time, click the border of the placeholder, and then press DELETE.
4. Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then click Save As.5. In the File name box, type a file name, or do nothing to
accept the suggested file name.6. In the Save as type list, click PowerPoint Template, and then
click Save.
Animation
Adding Animations to Text Box or Click Art in PowerPoint Select the text or object that you want to animate. On the Animations tab, in the Animations group, click
Custom Animation. In the Custom Animation task pane, click Add Effect, To make the text or object enter with an effect, point to
Entrance, and then click an effect. To specify how the effect is applied to your text or object,
right-click the custom animation effect in the Custom Animation list, and then click Effect Options on the shortcut menu.
Unit 8 Assignment
1. Create 8-10 slides a. When creating presentations it is important that you know how to concisely provide theappropriate information.2. Start the presentation with a title slide and end it with a contact information slide a. The title slide must include an appropriate title for your presentation, your name, the
course and section, and the date created. b. The end slide should include contact information such as your email address and AIM
user name.3. Select appropriate slide layouts for each slide a. PowerPoint has a variety of slide layouts that makes it easy for you to add text, graphics
and other media to your presentation. Pick the layout that best fits your information.4. Add a title to all slides a. Titles on slides are important because they provide your audience with an idea of the
information you will discuss.5. Add at least one slide that contains bullets and one of which should have sub-bullets a. Bullet statements are an integral part of a slide. Your bullets should highlight what you
plan on discussing. You, as the presenter, should be able to use the bullets as a reminder of the information you want to convey to your audience.

6. Add three to five JPG, or GIF, graphics for the entire presentation a. The graphics should be properly positioned and sized. They
should enhance the presentation.7. Select a slide design theme that is appropriate for the presentation a. Adding a design theme adds appeal to your presentation.8. Include animation on each slide a. Animation allows you to alter how the text, graphic and other
information is added to the slide when it is displayed. You may have your bullets appear one at a time, fade in and fade out.
9. Do not add sound to your presentation. Do not use the Typewriter animation.
10. Ensure presentation is free of spelling and grammatical errors.
