Due to the Government guidelines on
protecting the public against the spread of
the Coronavirus, PeoplePlus Cymru have
made the decision to suspend all face to
face training and education. All contact
until further notice will be conducted
remotely: online and over the phone.
What this means is that although
PeoplePlus Cymru cannot offer work
experience at this time, we can assess and
develop vital employability skills and
knowledge, while offering the delivery of
the programme online.

There are two different parts to the Traineeship Programme-
• Traineeship Engagement –
• 21 hours over 4 days for £30 training allowance per week if all
conditions are met;
• Those on this programme will be expected to complete a remote
learning and training programme:
• Monday through to Thursday each week.
• Between 09:00 – 4:00
• BONUS: There is an option for a £10.00 bonus;

conditions are met;

Timesheets
Training Allowance

The Admin Team will need to receive a signed, fully completed Timesheet by 09.00 Monday each week to ensure payment is processed in time.
Timesheets are completed remotely using SMART ASSESSOR;
You will complete your timesheet online Thursday or Friday each week;
This will be explained in more detail during your induction.
No fully completed & signed timesheet = NO PAY this includes for holidays, sickness, unauthorised absence and authorised absence

Programme Mentor/Point of Contact
Each learner has been allocated a Programme Mentor who will be their point of contact.
It is essential that you contact your mentor regularly;
If you do not contact your mentor as agreed, you may lose your allowance;
Details of your Programme Mentor and the Centre Manager will be given to you during this induction.
Self-Isolation

Self-Isolation
If you need to self-isolate - as an individual or household - during the Covid-19 lockdown, you must:
•follow current government guidelines;
•and then ADVISE your Programme Mentor IMMEDIATELY.
Details of your Programme Mentor and the Centre Manager will be given to you during this induction.
An area manager leads a dedicated team of skilled staff who work
together with your mentor to provide a training programme that meets
your needs:
• Employability Tutor-Coach – Entry Level to Level 2 essential employability
skills development and assessment;
• Essential Skills Tutor – Entry Level to Level 1 essential skills development
in Application of Number; Communication Skills and Digital Literacy;
• Business Development Coach – Access to employment through work
placement, Employee Relations, Health & Safety Assessments.

• Centre Admin – responsible for administering the traineeship
programme in accordance with Welsh Government, European
Social Fund and PeoplePlus guidelines.
• Lead Tutor – works with coaching/tutor team to facilitate your
training programme;
This team is here to help you succeed and can draw on the knowledge,
skills and experience of the wider team across PeoplePlus.

MANDATORY – as part of your induction you MUST complete:
1. WEST Essential Skills Assessment
2. EFT Learners PREVENT Training & Assessments
3. Health & Safety at Work – self-study & assessment module
4. And introductions to:

+ Safeguarding: Including PREVENT
+ Wales & Welsh Culture
+ Education (ESDGC) – Health & Wellbeing

As part of your programme YOU MUST complete weekly self study tasks and
assessments. These can cover a variety of essential employability knowledge
and skills, as well as your personal development: for example -
+ ESDGC – i.e. Health & Wellbeing, Personal finance;
+ Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding & E-Safety
+ Wales & Welsh Culture
+ Employability – i.e. CV, interview skills;
+ Personal Development – i.e. assertiveness, confidence.
+ Literacy Skills: Maths, English & Digital Literacy
+ Trade Specific knowledge & skills.

The weekly tasks and assessment will depend on your circumstances
and capability.
To receive your training allowance, a copy of your weekly self-
study assessment MUST be completed and sent to your MENTOR.
It is IMPORTANT that you have an on-going discussion with your
MENTOR, so you can agree what you need to do, when it needs to be
completed and how you will receive and send the tasks.

During your programme
Progress reviews

While you are at PeoplePlus Cymru a COMPULSORY progress review is completed every 21 days.
A progress review is a 1 to 1 meeting with your mentor that allows the opportunity to assess how you are developing through the programme, discuss goals and ways to overcome obstacles to their achievement;
Your review will be completed remotely by appointment, using Smart Assessor – it could result in your allowance not being paid if you fail to notify your MENTOR that you are unable to meet as agreed.
Absences

YOU MUST BE CONTACTABLE DURING YOUR
TRAINING HOURS TO BE “IN
TRAINING”;
IF YOU ARE “ABSENT” FROM TRAINING DUE TO SICKNESS,
YOU MUST CONTACT YOUR
MENTOR BY 09:00 TO
REPORT ON EACH DAY OF
ABSENCE.
THIS IS AN EMPLOYABILITY REQUIREMENT.
YOU WILL BE PAID FOR LIMITED
SICKNESS IF WE ARE NOTIFIED.
FOR THE FIRST WEEK YOU WILL REQUIRE A SELF
CERTIFICATE AVAILABLE
ONLINE, FOLLOWING THIS
A DOCTORS NOTE WILL BE
REQUIRED FOR FURTHER ABSENCE.
FAILURE TO REPORT YOUR ABSENCE MAY RESULT IN YOU NOT RECEIVING
YOUR ALLOWANCE.
Holidays

Learners are entitled to 2 days holiday for every completed month they are on programme.
These can be saved up and taken at any point in the programme, subject to approval by your MENTOR.
You must give at least one week’s notice;
Holiday forms can be given by your mentor or administrator.

PeoplePlus Cymru take your welfare and wellbeing seriously.
Your mentor can offer pastoral care and sign post you to services and agencies who can offer professional support.
PeoplePlus Cymru have a professional counselling service which you can access as a learner with PeoplePlus.

Documentation
Letter From HMRC NI number, Bank details, Proof of address,
Birth certificate, Driving licence CertificatesPassport or as many
of these as possible.
Please discuss with your MENTOR if you have any problems as it may result in
non payment.
• To receive your weekly allowance YOU must:
• Contact your mentor as agreed;
• Complete and send weekly work assigned to you;
• Complete your timesheet weekly as agreed;
• Be available between 09:00 and 16:00 on the days you are in
training;
• Contact your mentor IMMEDIATELY if you are self-isolating;
• Contact you mentor by 09:00 if you are unable to be “in training”
for a day (due to personal reason);
• Agree holiday requests in advance.

From time to time you will be invited to take part in PeoplePlus Cymru learner forum’s. This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard, your suggestions to be heard and discussed.
We have a ‘You said. We did’ wall, which will show any updates on suggestions made in learner forums, surveys, working groups, and where we have acted upon them in centre.
