Welcome to Good Friday Service
We are glad you chose to spend it with us and Him
Jesus I lift up Your nameAnd praise You for the love that
You gave
You’re the reason I live todayYou’ve blessed my life in so
many ways
Because of You
I can’t keep this joy inside I’ll never be satisfied
Until I tell the world of YouAnd share Your love in all that I
do
And so I’ll sing outThis song for You
Because of You I’m filled with joy
I will praise You Lord with all my heart
Yeah You my Glorious KingYou gave my life a brand new start
Yeah You It’s because of You

Above all powersAbove all kings
Above all natureAnd all created things
Above All
Above all wisdom And all the ways of man
You were hereBefore the world began
Above all kingdomsAbove all thronesAbove all wonders
The world has ever known
Above all wealthAnd treasures of the earth
There’s no way To measure what Your worth
CrucifiedAnd laid behind a stone
You lived to dieRejected and alone
Like a roseTrampled on the ground
You took the fallAnd thought of me
Above all
Above all powersAbove all kings
Above all natureAnd all created things
Above all wisdom And all the ways of man
You were hereBefore the world began
Above all kingdomsAbove all thronesAbove all wonders
The world has ever known
Above all wealthAnd treasures of the earth
There’s no way To measure what Your worth
CrucifiedAnd laid behind a stone
You lived to dieRejected and alone
Like a roseTrampled on the ground
You took the fallAnd thought of me
Above all
Into Your hands I commit againAll I am for You my Lord

The function, value, and purpose of the Cross
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." 1 Cor 1:17-19 (NKJV)
12 As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. 13 For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. 14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom[5] the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. Gal 6:12-15 (NKJV)
14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Eph 2:14-18 (NKJV)
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phil 2:5-11 (NKJV)
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight-- 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, Col 1:19-23 (NKJV)
1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb 12:1-2 (NKJV)
13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Col 2:13-15 (NKJV)
