The project is done in first person and orally presented
Students become the person they researched by dressing in costume

Students write checks and balance checkbooks with real-world situations.
Students form companies and manufacture a product to sell at the Money Market.
Posters containing company names, logos and a picture of the product are created
by students.
The students buy and sell their products at the Money Market.
Students spend company profits at the Teachers’ Store.

Scientific Method
Students do hands-on exploration with six simple machines.
Students investigate the properties of rocks. They also observe and study
calcite and granite.
Unknown powders are tested, fingerprinting is explored and secret
pen pals are matched...
while solving the mystery in a selected novel.
Students study food chains with a focus on owls and anoles.
We will be using the Second Step program to teach critical social skills.
Students work in teams during reading incentive contests.
Individual assignment books are completed on a daily
basis.
