Having close to two decades of experience in metal forming, EDAETECH sharpens its expertise in the
handling of aluminium, high formability deep drawing steels, high strength steels, advanced high strength
steels and stainless steels.
Automotive
Having stamping and deep-drawing tooling manufacturing know-how deeply embedded in our
Engineering Team, EDAETECH gains the ability to develop parts with complex geometry and highly
demanding tolerances with quality precision and repeatability.
Aerospace
With a young, dynamic and multidisciplinary R&D team, Industrial Research is mainly focused on the
development of advanced automated materials processing solutions using Fiber Optic LASER generators.

EDAETECH is pioneer in Portugal in the introduction of 2D and 3D fiber laser. We have the ability to
shape sheet metal by bending and stamping processes on different types of materials. We supply
complex assemblies welded and / or assembled with and without surface finishes.

Complete project control from customer design support to product development,

Metrology
The verification of compliance with customer requirements, during the different stages
of the production process as well as at the end of production, are a guarantee of Quality.
Dimensional reports of a sample of parts from the batch produced are issued together
with the parts.
Dynamic team with technical skills in the advanced use of different measurement and
control equipment and software, such as:

To be able to provide quick and precise machining service Edaetech is equipped with different
CNC machinery such as:
• 3 and 5 axis Machining Centers including turning and pallet changer;
• CNC Mill-Turn Lathes (With Y Axis and sub-Spindle);
• EDM wire cutting machining.
Main machinery brands at our plant: Mazak, Makino, Matssura, DMGMori and HAAS.
Highly qualified team about prototyping methods, stamping tooling and 3 and 5 axis complex
shapes.

Stamping
We are equipped with small and large machines, ranging from 160 to 750 tons.
• 160ton / 250ton Mechanical Presses:
Machines with speed and precision, targeted to low cadence series and high precision
parts;
• 320ton / 750ton Hydraulic Presses:
High strength and robust machines that allow working high limit elastic steels, deep
recessed steels, in multi-stage parts.
Bending
• Bending of various alloys using standard tools;
• Ability to internally develop project-specific tools.

GMAW and TIG Welding
EDAETECH is equipped with machines and devices that enables a vast part of automotive steel
structures welding among others.
Welding team is duly certified, prepared and constantly updated for any given market challenge.
Robot Arm Welding
EDAETECH also provides GMAW Robot arm welding service in order to increase welding capacity
and repeatability on low volume assemblies.

Assembly
Qualified teams for the assembly. With the help of bonding technologies, from Laser Welding,
MIG / MAG Welding, Conventional Welding, Resistance Welding, Clinching and Inserting we
can provide highly complex assemblies and technical rigor.
We collaborate with a network of qualified suppliers for surface finishes.

We are equipped with 2D and 3D CO2 and fiber laser machines with automatic storage integration
with reduced cycle time, laser cutting planning and stocks autonomous management in real time.
2D Fiber Laser - Reduced Heat Affected Zone (HAZ); Speed of execution; Material and geometries
changing flexibility; Laser power up to 10-kW; High reflective materials cutting (max. thickness:
copper 15mm, aluminium 40mm, stainless steel 40mm, carbon steel 30mm); Bed Size: 3000 x 1500
mm; Positioning Accuracy: 0,030 mm.
3D Fiber Laser - 5 axis optical fiber laser, 100% direct drive with dynamic and accuracy ahead of
market offer; Reduced setup time (artificial vision incorporation); Complex Geometries; Highly
versatile equipments that are competitive either for prototyping or series; Size: 3000 x 1500 x 600
mm; Positioning Accuracy: 0,030 mm.

Laser Engraving / Laser Welding and Heat Treatment

Laser Engraving
• Galvanometer laser engraving system (20 W fiber optic laser) dedicated to different materials.
Laser welding
• Excellent weld bead;
• Reduced termal output => Lack of deformation;
• Welding capacity:
• Steel/Stainless : 8 mm;
• Aluminium : 4 mm.
Laser Surface Hardening
• Used in high wear zones such as dies and moulds;
• Penetration up to 3mm on edges;
• Dedicated to homogeneous geometries.
