WESTLANDS COUNTRY PARK was originally established as an activity centre well over 25 years ago. Initially, the activity centre was quite successful, offering activities such as go-karting, paintballing, quad biking and clay pigeon shooting. However with little or no financial investment or upgrading over the years, it fell into major disrepair.

In May 2015, Westlands was purchased by Border Caravans who are a family run business who own and run a further three holiday parks across Scotland. In the first year the old activity centre was renamed to ‘Westlands Country Park’ and major investment was put into the shooting ground. New stands were built, and 55 brand new Promatic traps with Claymate release system were installed, along with a kilometre long road which was laid to provide easy access to the brand new shooting ground.

They then set to work on the fishing ponds, which hadn’t been touched or maintained in years. Once dug out and left to settle, one of the large ponds was stocked with local rainbow, blue and tiger trout and is now open for fly fishing. In 2017, the highest shooting tower in Scotland at 140ft was built, and erected by Ray Wing Towers. The shooting tower has some challenging targets and attracts game shooters from all over the Country.

Once the shooting ground was complete, it was time to start on the touring and lodge area. The old bungalow at the entrance to the park was redeveloped into the new amenity building complete with ladies, gents, disabled and a laundrette. Next came 33 touring super pitches, for seasonal tourers and night halts. Finally was the development of 22 luxury lodge pitches with stunning views looking over our fishing ponds.

Future plans for Westlands include a brand new facility building, with shop, gun room, bar and restaurant and reception area.

Keep up to date with our developments by liking our Facebook page, following us on Instagram or by joining our mailing list which can be found on our website.
