The only suitable route to the club when towinga caravan or with a motorhome is from theWest, via Chalfont St Peter and the A413. Thisroute is detailed below.

If coming from the North on the A413, proceedtowards Chalfont St Peter. Just before thevillage you will see a Tesco petrol station onyour left. Immediately after it, turn sharp left upthe hill onto Rickmansworth Lane following thesign for Horn Hill. From the South on the A 413,don’t take the roundabout turn to Chalfont StPeter Village; instead follow the A413 for a fewhundred yards then turn right intoRickmansworth Lane, again following the signfor Horn Hill.

Follow the road up the hill for about 0.5 milethen turn right at the “T” junction then almostimmediately turn left into Rickmansworth Lane.Follow this road for about a mile, payingparticular attention to the parked cars andbuilding site entrances where you mightencounter large vehicles. You will then see the“Dumb Bell” pub in front of you; turn left intoShire Lane and the visitors’’ entrance will beseen on the right hand side after a hundred orso yards. Pull in and use the gate phone tosummon a club member. This route can beseen at the following URL:

Coming from the M25 North. Take the A404,

signposted “Amersham” and continue for 3.3miles to Little Chalfont. Go under the railwaybridge and at 3.5 miles turn left on the B4442signposted “Chalfont St Giles” onto CokesLane. Stay on the main road, which becomesNightingales Lane, and at 6.4 miles turn left onthe A413 signposted London and Chalfont StPeter. This route then joins the main route tothe club as given above – “North on the A413”.IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU DON’T TURN OFFONTO ANY OF THE MINOR ROADS OFF TOTHE LEFT ON THE B4442, they are all narrow, single tracked in some places and not suitablefor caravans or large vehicles.

Coming from the M25 South.the intersection

with the M40 and proceed on the M40 towardsLondon. Very shortly turn off the M40 atJunction 1 and take the A40 in the direction ofGerrards Cross. After a few miles take the righthand filter onto the A413 towards Amershamand the Chalfonts. Proceed on this road untilyou come to Chalfont St Peter and then followthe instructions given above – “South on theA413”.

    How Big is Your Rig?

Diogenes is a tranquil club set in the heart ofthe English countryside. It’s a country estate, nota caravan park! Space is limited, so there aresome practical limits on the size of rig (car andcaravan combination or motorhome) that wecan accommodate as follows:

    Caravans –

    · The maximum towing length, i.e., car &caravan rig, is 14 metres.

    · Maximum length of caravan (shippinglength, including drawbar) is usually 7metres but up to 8 metres may bepossible if some of our larger bays areavailable.

    · Twin-axled caravans are not permitted.

    · It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to back yourcaravan into our bays using your car sobe prepared to manhandle your caravanor, better still, use a motor mover!

    · No awnings are allowed.

    · Cars must be parked in the separate carpark, not in the caravan bays.

    Motorhomes

The maximum length of motorhome we canaccommodate is 10 metres. Even then, thismay be too big for some of our bays.

Please ensure you let us know the size of yourrig on your booking form so that we canallocate an appropriate bay for you.
