bounce house, games, cake walk, popcorn and drinks, arts and crafts,
and much more. Wear your favorite costume and join the fun!
Everything is free! Please check on the sign up sheet for ways to help. If
you want to provide cup cakes or candy, please stay away from
anything with peanuts. Candy donations may be placed in the church
office. Thank you!

year during Advent. We will need your help and are asking you to submit a devotional on Advent. It can be a story of a special Christmas
memory, something special your family does to celebrate the season,
etc. Devotions need to be turned into to Diane Barnes no later

Today we welcome the Reverend Rudy Tucker and his wife, Alicia, to
our church. Rudy served Chestnut Memorial UMC as pastor from 1993-
2001. He currently is serving at Grace United Methodist Church in

The Chestnut Memorial UMM on Sunday October 21st, 2012, again
presented Laity awards to five more members of Chestnut Memorial
UMC. The 2012 recipients’ were
• Dana Dahl Dana Dahl Dana Dahl Dana Dahl –––– for her work heading up the “Food Pantry”, helping to
organize the “Journey to Bethlehem and helping to organize the
“Vacation Bible School”.
• Beverley Everitt Beverley Everitt Beverley Everitt Beverley Everitt ---- for her dedication to the improvement and maintenance of the flower beds and grounds around our church and
her steadfast support for the many programs at Chestnut Memorial
UMC.
• Matt Twiggs Matt Twiggs Matt Twiggs Matt Twiggs –––– for his dedication to the youth of Chestnut Memorial
by teaching Sunday School and assisting with the many youth
programs at Chestnut Memorial, for the outstanding
accomplishments while being Chairman of the Finance Committee
and for cooking the best Bar-B-Que (in the area) to support the
many Fundraisers at Chestnut Memorial and to support the
“Wounded Warriors Fund”.

maintenance of the flower beds and grounds around our church and
her steadfast support for the many programs at Chestnut Memorial

Program”, his genuine involvement in the United Methodist Men
and all the activities at Chestnut Memorial UMC.

Speakers will be Linda and Darrell Tenney (VIMS Mission Team), Linda
Sue Hughes (Mountain Mission Team), and Leanne Allen (Youth YES
Program) these folks will be talking to us and informing us what is
currently happening within these ministries and what their plans are for
the future. This presentation will keep us informed about what’s
happening in these ministries at Chestnut Memorial UMC. This will also
help us determine the assistance the UMM could be to these and other
ministries at Chestnut Memorial in the future.
