Kirkstall Forge has been master-planned by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, the international architectural practice which won the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2013 for ‘Accordia’ in Cambridge. This groundbreaking 23 acre development set a new benchmark for housing in the UK.

Renowned in Leeds and beyond, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios also designed the multi award-winning Broadcasting Tower for Leeds Beckett University. This project received many plaudits including the CTBUH Best Tall Building in the World 2010 award.

As well as undertaking the master-planning for Kirkstall Forge, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios has designed our new homes, bringing a progressive and iconic design ethic to the area.

800 YEARSOF HISTORY

Kirkstall Forge has been a site of industrial significance since the 12th Century, contributing hugely to Leeds’ reputation as an engineering pioneer.

In fact, this was the longest continually used industrial site in the UK. Kirkstall Forge has always changed with the times, from the early days of Cistercian monks forging iron to the Industrial Revolution. It later moved into the manufacturing of motor vehicle axles and steel bars which it continued to do until the site closed in 2003.

Coupled with the new Kirkstall Forge train station, which opened in 2016, the development will breathe life back into this historic site, re-establishing Kirkstall as an integral and prosperous part of the city.
