ECRC FWD CENT is responsible for Navy Individual Augmentees (IAs)
on behalf of ECRC to exercise administrative control. We support Sailors
through Reception, Staging, Onward Movement & Integration (RSO&I),
along with sustainment functions to include: Awards, Fitreps/Evals, travel
claims, career support, Emergency Leave, R&R Leave, billet issues to
include early release and extensions, and overall health & welfare of IAs
in the CENTCOM AOR.
We are your link in the Navy chain while in CENTCOM.

Al Udeid Air Base
•Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB) is a large coalition military base
southwest of Doha, Qatar. The home of the Qatari Air Force
and roughly 10,000 coalition personnel, it is host to a
forward headquarters of United States Central Command,
headquarters of United States Air Forces Central Command,
No. 83 Expeditionary Air Group RAF, and the 379th Air
Expeditionary Wing of the USAF.

Reception
ARRIVAL
•Upon arriving in Qatar, debarking the plane and movement
to the Qatar Customs staging area, you will be met by ECRC
FWD CENT staff members. Look for the individuals in
NWU Type III’s or Navy PTUs.
•You will arrive on the operational side of the base and
be transported to the residential side after you process
through Immigration and Customs.

IMMIGRATION
•After debarking the aircraft, you will be directed to line up
under a shade awning with your carry-on luggage to await
processing through immigration.
•You will be directed by Air Force personnel to enter into the
immigration facility with your CAC ID and 2 sets of orders.
•Your orders will be stamped and your ID will be given to
Qatari immigration officials for processing. At that time, an
immigration brief will be presented to you.

CUSTOMS
•While you are in Immigration, your bags and weapons will
be off-loaded into a common area.
•When complete with the immigration process, you will
proceed outside to move your weapons into long-term
storage at the Armory. ECRC FWD CENT staff will assist
you.
•ECRC FWD CENT staff will then assist you in moving your
bags through Customs.

CUSTOMS
•With the exception of your weapons case, all other bags are
subject to search by Qatari Custom’s officials.
•Prohibited items include weapons, alcohol, tobacco and
pornography. Tobacco includes e-cigarette and other vaping
devices. All prohibited items will be confiscated and not
returned. Plan accordingly.
•Once through Customs, the staff will assist you in
transferring your baggage to one of our vehicles if you are
not met by personnel from your gaining command.

ON BASE TRANSPORTATION
•ECRC FWD CENT staff has several vehicles that we utilize
within the departments to move throughout the base
•The Air Force operates a 24 hour shuttle service throughout
the base for all other transportation needs. Buses run every
25 minutes.

Residential
• The residential side of the base is broken into two main
sections:
– The Coalition Compound (CC Side)
– The Blanchford-Preston Compound (BPC Side)
• ECRC FWD CENT staff members live on the BPC side but
have access to both BPC and CC side amenities

Dormitory Building
The BPC dorms have three
main sections and two main
entrances. They are housing
for those staying at least 6
months or longer.

Once you are assigned a room
in the BPC area, you will go
here to get checked into your
room. This is also the location
for light bulbs and
maintenance request.

Each interior section has two
floors and a large open area
with tables and benches.

Each room is about 10’ X 10’.
You get a twin- sized bed,
ceiling fan,
dresser/entertainment center,
desk w/ chair, easy chair, sink
w/ medicine cabinet and closet.
E-6 and above have a room to
themselves and share a kitchen
and bathroom with an adjoining
suite-mate.

connecting room for you
and your suite-mate. It has a
mini-fridge and a micro-
wave as you can see.

The laundry room is free and
located in the center main
section on one end. Laundry
soap, dryer sheets etc. are
available for purchase at the
Base Exchange.

There are two recreation
rooms per dorm building
and each has a T.V. or two,
a pool table and Dart board.

Dining Facilities (DFAC)
You will definitely eat well
while you are here. There is
quite a variety to choose
from at every meal. There are
two other DFACs, one in
Ops Town named Manhattan
and one in the Coalition
Compound (CC) named
Independence.

You need your CAC card
and be in the proper attire to
eat. You’ll scan the bar code
located just below your color
picture on the front.

There are two dining rooms
on each end of the BPC
DFAC.
There is also a “Cold Grab-
and-Go” and well as a “Hot
Grab-and-Go” located on the
Operational side of the base.

The BPC gym is one of two
gyms at your disposal. The
CC gym is adjacent to the
Memorial Plaza on the
Coalition Compound. On the
CC side, there are 3 separate
fitness buildings dividing
weight lifting, cardio and the
gymnasium. Behind the CC
gymnasium you will find the
running track.

equipment at the reception

doors, the front desk and
basketball court are to your
right, the weight/treadmill
room and free-weight room
are on your left. At the far
end on the right are the
racquetball courts and the
pool. There is a locker room
for men and women.

You can play by yourself or
often get in on a pick-up
game. Half the court is often
set up for volleyball as is the
case in the above picture.

from 0500-2200 with the
exception of Tuesday.

machines, including
treadmills, stationary
bikes, rowers, ellipticals,
and stair-steppers.
There are also numerous
fitness classes taught by
certified staff.

crowded and most
machines have more than
one available. There is

It is a well stocked Air Force
Exchange (PX) with just about
anything you may need and is
open daily from 0800 - 2200.

They do good work here. A
regular haircut is $6.80 and a
“style” cut is a couple of
dollars more. The barber shop

Located within the BPC Rec
Center are pool tables, ping-
pong tables, dart boards etc.
There are couches and
recliners surrounding a large
T.V. and a popcorn machine.
Need a massage, pedicure,
manicure or facial? All the
way to the back you will find
a salon. There’s another one
located on the CC side as
well.

•There is a full service post
office within the mini-mall as
well. You will be able to
acquire all needed mailing
supplies here. Please be
mindful that all items need
inspection before being sealed.

•The Base Recreation Area is
in the center of the CC
where you can grab a beer
and relax in the shade.
Occasionally, there’s live
music, movies and other
activities.
•The Fox Sports bar is
located adjacent. You are
authorized 3 alcoholic
drinks per 18 hour period.

exceptions of Mondays

Off-Base Recreation
• You will have multiple opportunities to enjoy liberty off-
base in the city of Doha if you choose to do so. There are
multiple shopping malls, souqs, restaurants and hotels, as
well as cultural centers and museums.
• Information Trips & Tours (ITT) provides recreational and
cultural trips for US military, DOD military and its
supporters, off base military and their dependents and
civilian contractors.
• Liberty trips are subject to base and local instructions and
may be restricted in the event of heightened AT/FP.

Connectivity
• Free but limited WiFi is located throughout the BPC dorms,
the BPC gym, and the BPC Mini-Mall complex. Through an
additional contract, you may purchase high-speed WiFi
through Babtel communications.
• Each BPC dorm room is equipped with cable TV. You can
purchase a TV from the exchange or often off of a departing
staff member.
