Transition from Pri to Sec Sch –
Supporting your child during
Transition
Date: 2 January 2019 (Wed)
Time: 8.30am to 11.30am
Venue: Learning Lab
Speaker: Dr Richard Lim
Synopsis of Parenting Talk:
For many children, the transition from primary to
secondary school is an important event in life. In terms of
child psychology every move has its sunny aspect; the
excitement of the new, with fresh possibilities and the
potential for new friendships, but also a shadow aspect,
which will include some losses and adjustment to a new
social and physical environment.
In this session, we will discuss the psychosocial and
emotional development of teenagers. You will also pick up
practical tips and strategies to effectively support your
child. With these insights, you can effectively support your
child during transition.
Speaker’s Profile
Dr Richard Lim is a registered psychotherapist in
private practice. He is a training consultant with more
than 15 years of experience in this field. Currently,
Richard focuses on Motivation, Resiliency and
Relationship Psychology for application in business
communication and human relations. Richard has
worked with couples, families and singles in
relationships for more than 12 years. He specializes in
helping people to comprehend how relational and
communication patterns can affect relationships which
will in turn enhance deeper bonding.
