1. Recognizes the importance of MCLA and of the Liberal Arts education

• understands the liberal arts and their educational value • articulates meaning and value of liberal arts to diverse

audiences and stakeholders (politicians, fundraisers, potential students and their families, etc.)• articulates meaning and value of MCLA to those

audiences

• provides the necessary academic, personal, and financial supports to enable a diverse student body to succeed

• works well within a political and economic environment with diminishing resources and greater "accountability"

• maintains the integrity of the college and its mission• promotes and fosters equity, while addressing social justice

issues.
