Parents and teachers join as oneTo create an educated daughter or son.

It takes lots of love, caring and understandingBut an individual will emerge who is special notwithstanding.

We will work together to help each child bloomSo they can grow and prosper as they learn in this room.

So I share this little confection with you as I sayI am committed to helping your child grow each and every

day. Yes, the road is long, but the journey's begun

As we strive to educate your daughter or your son.

Classroom Management: Class Dojo

Student Behavior will be tracked through the web-based program Class Dojo. This program will track your child’s behavior (positive and negative).

- Students can earn points for positive behavior such as being on task, following directions, helping others.

- Tickets are awarded for each positive point which in turn can be used to purchase special reward coupons (extra computer time, use the teacher’s chair, etc.) These coupons are priced differently to encourage your child to earn as many positive points as possible.

- Students can also lose points for negative behaviors such as calling out, being off task, etc.)

- Students who earn 3 negative marks will receive a yellow card, 5 negative marks will result in a red card. Students who earn 2 yellow or red marks in a week will receive a detention. After 3 detentions a referral will be issued.

Classroom Management Class Dojo (Continued)

• If you haven’t already done so, please register for Class Dojo. It can be accessed on your desktop or even on your smartphone (ClassDojo app).

• Once you have joined you will be able to check your child’s progress anytime. In addition, the program will automatically email you a report every Friday.

• Don’t forget to praise your child at home for positive behavior!

Student Responsibilities…

* Students should come to school each day prepared with 3 sharpened pencils. Broken pencils may be replaced throughout the day by exchanging unsharpened pencils with a sharpened one. If all their pencils are lost or forgotten at home they must give me a coupon to borrow a pencil from the teacher’s supply.

• Students are to take out their cupcake binder (which includes their supplies, agenda, and folders) each morning and place these items in their desk before hanging their book bag on the hooks. At the end of the day they are responsible for placing these items back in their book bag.
